My daughter would love to try some work. Has tried to get volunary work but it is soooooooo hard - I suppose it's harder because she is in a wheelchair and there can be access problems for one. She was asked to apply for  a job which was full time and meant she had to travel around - she was told she would have PA with her. When we checked up for safety nets incase she couldn't manage the long hours we were told she would get 2 weeks trial then her benefits would change. We didn't consider this fair - or long enough for her as a trial. - Result she turned the interview down. It was a shame as it was as a campaign co-ordinator - campaigning is what she does and is good at.     Pam

Exactly she gets income support. 6 months would be a fairer lengh of time in my opinion. They don't give a lot of encouragement do they. Instead she carries on with her campaigning which she enjoys but of course ther's no wage at the end of it. The last campaign took her 16 months - but she had a marvelous result. At least she's doing SOMETHING. Pam
