I know I shouldn't moan really as we are so luckly to have free healthcare in this country. But I have certainly paid into it over the years of work and now as a fulltime carer.
I had an appointment today, just a check up for my various ailments, and I was so surprised to see that most of the staff class finishing their personal chats with collegues and sharing a joke with them is more important than seeing to patients waiting.
I wish they could be more professional and put patients first. They finish work at a set time but the patients have to continue to live with their illness 24/7.
I'm sure the NHS would run far better if it went back to the professional efficient service it used to offer instead of all this "have fun with friends at work" attitude.
Sorry for moaning.

Thanks Barbsy, yes it went OK and I have been discharged now.
I still have the illness but it's not life threatening and apart from the terrible pain most days it is liveable with.
I am glad I don't have to go back. |

I dont know whats going on in the NHS. we seem to do nothing but wait, and wait and.....
Then when you do get seen, I dunno, its as though the patients are an "inconvinience" and are hearded through like cattle.
Everything we buy - food, lighting, heating, water, clothes, petrol etc all contributes towards the national income in the form of tax.
where does it all go?????
Probably into the chief execs pocket?
its all crazy if you ask me.
(but no one ever does )

we have a whole day to look forward to at the hospital tomorrow, the little un has check ups for his cleft palate and speech, they made three appointments with three different consultants, one at 10, one at 2 and one at 4.... looks like we will have a busy day up there.

Sounds like you will have to take a packed lunch
Seriously I hope it all goes well. It will be tiring for you both but I suppose all the appointments are then over with in one fell swoop and you can get on and enjoy the summer holidays.
Good luck Barbsy, let us know how it goes. |

| a disappointing day because jon has to have some sleep study tests done to check on his breathing as he needs another palate operation and they are not sure if they can do it until they do some more tests. going to keep myself busy today so i dont worry although thats easier said than done. its just so horrible thinking about putting him throo so muchall the time. |

Oh barbsy, sorry to hear that things are not going as well as you had hoped.
I'm sure they won't do anything they feel isn't right for Jon and the things they do will be to make his life better in general.
I know that doesn't really help to stop the worry of another possible operation.
I hope you are feeling a little easier about things soon. (((hugs))) |
