The National Key Scheme offers independent access bydisabled people to around 7,000 locked public toilets around the country.

While RADAR would like all providers of accessible toilets to keep their toilets unlocked if possible; the National Key Scheme (NKS) should be used if the provider concerned has to keep the toilets locked to stop misuse and damage.

For orders received without the name and address of the disabled person and a declaration of his/her disability, we are obliged, by law, to charge VAT. Please see Notice 701/7 VAT Reliefs for Disabled People for a full explanation of the law on this issue.Organisations applying for keys must supply a zero rate certificate in order to qualify for VAT relief.NB:There are penalties for making false declarations. If you are in any doubt as to whether you are eligible to receive goods or services zero-rated for VAT you should contact the National VAT Advice Service on 0845 010 9000 before ordering a key with declaration from this website.

Please note that the toilets are the property of the providers concerned, and as such, any queries or problems concerning a toilet should be directed to that provider, rather than RADAR.
