Similar situation as my son but obviously different incidents.

FROM THE PARENTS

The director of children's services for Bolton has responded to accusations of bullying and abuse at a Kearsley school.

RESPONSE HERE

We have been apologised to for what has happened in writting but the head still says it didn't happen. This sounds familiar.

Maybe it's me, but the Director of Child Services was not exactly coming over very well. I know that legally she could not say what sanctions had been carried out on staff, but to effectively call the kids liars while denying that she was doing so was out of order.

Nor did she say what investigations took place - or why they believed adults over children, accepting as "fact" that the child did not wear the dress.

Confidence factor: 0 out of 10

I agree Charles.

I thought these days they wanted to listen to the children more and understand that children do not make these things up.

A child with ASD making up this type of story is not something I would believe. It's much more likely the adults are the liars.

My own more recent experience is with adult rather than education services but seems to me the same malais affects all branches of social services. As Charles says,  confidence factor 0 out of 10.

I must admit I have a somewat jaundiced view of the whole system based on my own personal experience but the type of statement issued there seems typical.

Based on my own observations I have come to the conclusion, possibly based on compenstion culture that in any given situation social services will automatically deny any accusation even when the facts are obvious to any body with a modicum of common sense, all communications are in their somewhat strange interpretation of the English Language in which as one Mum said to me 'they twist what you say, and that the priorities are often to protect your own back first, then your collegues as long as it doesnt place you at risk, clients or in this case kids last and do every thing you can to avoid any sort of publicity

Re the above post, I realise that my experience is with social services but the head of child services there seems to have come from the same mould as many I have had contact with.
