Had to take the baby (who turned 1 the begining of this month) to the dr's today he's being coughing for about 4 days now and getting short of breath and can you belive it, they have been saying since january that they will propably diagnose him with asthma when he is 1 and all they said today is no it's not asthma, but he now needs 2 puffs of the ventalin inhaler 3 times a day and oh we are going to give him a steroid inhaler aswell, it makes me so mad

What!!!
They don't give unnessary medications for nothing, especially steroids. He obviously has Asthma if they have given him Asthma inhalers.
I often wonder how some doctors make it to the profession and keep their jobs.
I hope they help and he feels better soon. Both mine have Asthma too so if you need to sound off here please do and we'll understand. _________________

I know even the most senior doctors can get it wrong (from experience)
At least he's got his medication now and hopefully will soon be feeling better. Pam _________________ Pam. |

Our eldest has asthma. We were going to the doctors for ages - it wasn't until he was given Ventolin syrup that I realised what was going on and challenged it.
He was 4.
23 years on, it's still happening. |

I remember when my daughter was 3yrs - she had a terrible cough and I was sure it was whooping cough - nope said the doctor - it's croup - so lots of steamy rooms etc. Then one day she went blue - couldn't breath - took her back to the doctors - oh yes a bad case of whooping cough he decided! grrrrrrr (and she had had the inoculation) Pam, _________________ Pam. |

| they said for months that my eldest had croup and it had been going on for months, and fortunatly for him he was under the hospital and when his chest got listened to the dr was going balistic that they had let his chest get so bad, that was 4 yrs ago and he got discharged last august after going every 3 months cause they think he's starting to grow out of it but his specialist already warned me that the baby was very high risk of developing it |
