No real improvement since the last update I'm afraid.
He has many problems that need sorting and they all need sorting out individually so they can move onto the next one.
I think it will be a long road but he will get there in the end fingers crossed.

Pixie
Recovery is a journey that does start with small steps.
I hope that everything gets sorted.

I am sure he is in good hands Pixie my late mother in-law also had a long journey to recovery once - but she got there eventually. Pam _________________ Pam. |

Thanks guys that helps a great deal and makes me feel that there is some hope for his recovery afterall.
He is 79 so not a spring chicken so there are bound to be some problems when you get to that age.
I'll update you when I know more. xx _________________

Pixie - my late mother in-law was 91 - so don't despair because of his age xx Pam _________________ Pam. |

Thanks Pam, that is reassuring and good to know that they do still help when you get older.
I have it in my head that once you get older they don't bother quite as much. I suppose that's all the bad press about the NHS so I will have to think more positively and send all the good thoughts to him. xx _________________

The latest news is that he's coming home next week with a care package.
He has decided to refuse all further tests and any treatment that may be appropriate following the tests.
He has an advanced directive so doesn't want any further intervention.
Hubby is not sure yet how he should feel and neither does his brother.
It is so sad but it is his decision so none of us can do anything to change his mind. Once he's decided he won't change it.
Sorry to bring this bad news here but I know you have all been saying prayers and sending positive feelings for him and us so I wanted you all to know.
Thank you again for all your good wishes and positive posts. xx _________________

Pixie - it's sad news but sometimes we need to take charge of our own lives and this is what your father in law has done. It's very hard for all of you - be brave and all you can do is help him along the pathway he has chosen. Pam xx _________________ Pam. |

I hope that all went well with Rabid's dad coming home.
All that any of us can do is be there to support and help, not to judge but to care. Hard as it may seem to have to respect another person's wishes when we think there could be more done.

Hubby's Dad came home yesterday.
No care package of course, but that's to be expected as they don't do things that quickly round here. I'm not sure how hubby's Mum is going to cope with all his needs but she only lives a short sitance away so we can help out if she needs us.
Thanks for all the prayers and positive thoughts from you all, it has made a big difference. xx _________________
