That when things are fine people are friendly but suddenly when you need their support they don't want to know.

Nobody on here by the way just to do with the school issue we have going on.

Pixie - I know your post is rhetorical but had to post.

People just forget how to be friends if they feel in any way to blame, insecure or in a muff with another person.

Sorry to hear that you are still going through difficulties with the school.

Have a huge Virtual Hug from me.

Sadly I think lots of people hesitate to get involved for all sorts of reasons,
Shame really because one day they might need the support themselves,

You are all so right and I thank you for listening to me ranting.

I will be posting the story on here soon in the Care Watch section as it will be delivered to Parlimant in April.

I am determined that my son's suffering will be seen and noted.

Pixie, it's not ranting - it's telling it like it is!

People often do not understand because they do not live our lives. As a result, they avoid us because we make them feel uncomfortable. Even if they wanted to help, they wouldn't know where to start.

I realised a few years ago that almost all of my friends are carers. I started having conversations with a chap in Canada who has similar views to me on a number of issues around my leisure interests and we effectively became cyberspace "pen pals" a couple of years ago. Turned out that he was caring for his mother, now deceased.

There is no escape!

you cant get better friends than carers... and I really feel for you pixie - there's nothing worse than being ignored by someone you thought was a true friend - and not supporting you when times are really hard..
