I was a bit mad yesterday as I went to a 40th party and Robbie wanted to come.....but on ringing them about access they said the party was upstairs and they only had a stair lift.....which is no good for someone who cannot weight bare....so poor Rob could not go and missed out seeing family that had come a distance

That's terrible fairydust.
I thought there were laws in place to ensure access to all but I expect Speeds or Scipilot will know more about that than I do.
I hope Robbie will manage to meet up with some of the family at some time in the future.
I expect it put a damper on the evening for you too.
Is there somewhere to complain about it?

Hi Guys
Scipilot is the best to answer this and I do get very mad over access but.....
If the person who booked the party booked a facility which was inaccessible then that is not the faciliiy's fault. there are certain laws about making places accessible but if the building is listed and has not made claims about accessibility which are false then unfortunately there is no issue.
Dom is often carried up and down stairs at places and also, there are often service lifts that can be used - although not the best they do provide access to upper floors.
Sorry that Robbie missed out - totally unfair on him.
Just to let you know - that we had a letter about a meeting Dom and I could attend and on the meeting letter it stated that there was no wheelchair access as the building they had chosen to host the meeting was not accessible - now this was from lawyers so one assumes that they would be on the ball. I am very cross but as we had no intention of going Dom will not pursue and not being in a wheelchair makes it difficult to fight the case.
