I hope this is not out of turn but I was wondering if anyone has a wheelchair adapted home on this forum.

We have two houses which are partially adapted - i.e. they have basic facilities.

One is our Holiday Let in Cornwall and the other is our home in Berkshire.

Our holiday home is rented out during the year as a holiday let but in Feb (not half term sorry), Mar, April, Nov and Dec (excluding school holidays) it is usually empty.  If anyone would like to take a break at these times then do get in touch.  We make a nominal charge to cover our costs e.g. cleaning/housekeeper/laundry but that is all.  Obviously the rest of the time it is "high" season and therefore is usually rented out by the agency.

Our main family home is also adapted and we are willing, if requested to allow people to stay here while we are on holiday.  Obviously being our main home it is not as sleek as a holiday home as it contains all our "cr*p" but we are happy to let people use it.  We are not unfortunately anywhere exotic but we are pretty central to plenty of open spaces and there are lots of things to do.

Anyway - have posted you a picture of our house in Cornwall and our house in Berkshire.

Hoping Pixie that you do not think this is weird but I appreciate how difficult it can be to go on holiday with someone who is disabled, children and pets - that is actually why we have the house in Cornwall as it is wheelchair, pet and child friendly

- our house from the back garden

- overlooking the nearest beach to the house in Cornwall

- our Cornwall house

Maybe we could do holiday house swaps?

Speeds that is a wonderful idea, thank you for offering your homes to share.

They both look beautiful, you put ours to shame. (We are still decorating).

I used to live in Windsor so I know that area quite well and I went to school there so have many old school friends around that area.

I also lived in Cornwall for 10 years and as Cornwall is not a very large area I know many places there too.

Whereabouts in Berkshire and Cornwall are your homes?

The last holiday we had was in Cornwall, Perranporth to be exact but that was almost 13 years ago and was a nightmare with 3 Autistic children who didn't cope well with the change. In fact we came home early.

I think we will be waiting now until our last pussy cat leaves us as she is too old to be put in a cattery (shes 16).

But I do hope that others may take you up on your very kind offer
.

We are in Crowthorne in Berkshire so not far from Broadmoor

Cornwall - our house is near Little Petherick which is on the main A road between Padstow and Wadebridge.

Oh and btw - the inside of Crowthorne is no palace - it needs decorating but it is warm, spacious and comfy. It also has a large wheelchair adapted garden and is also great as it has a circuit for racing bikes round - i.e. the paths are quite wide. It also has raised flower beds which are a herb garden which is great for senroy too as they are nice smelling and very tactile.

What a wonderful gesture.
A house would be more normal for our son, we usually stay in a caravan on holiday.
Its very kind of you to offer this. I'll let my husband have a look when he comes home from work.

Thanks Speeds, this offer is wonderful and I hope you get someone who wants to take you up on it.

We are still interested when our last puddy cat leaves us. Thankfully she is still going strong at the moment, which is good but at the same time.........well we could really do with a holiday.

Thaks Pixie - Pam and I were talking and I struggled to find it on the forum so I just thought I'd bump it up.

I am sure there are some other posts that we should bump up as well perhaps?
