Raising awareness in schools about dementia , hosted chat.
You are invited to our next hosted chat at 3pm Wednesday 26th September
with Mary Beardsley from the Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber Mental Health Team.
Mary is the Manager for the Day Respite Services in Doncaster
"By devising an educational package for children between the ages of 8 and 11 years that has given children a basic knowledge and understanding of dementia we have intregrated the children into our day care setting with our patient group and devised mutually beneficial activities. This has enhanced mental health awareness in the school ,forged friendships reduced stigma boosted our patients self esteem and strengthened links within the community."
Mary will also speak about the use of aromatherapy oils for patients with dementia.
