Hi this isn't for me but a friend. He wants to go away with his girlfriend who can do all his care - except one for which he needs a district nurse. Does anyone know how he goes about getting this set up please.  Pam

Hi Pam

1.  I would ask the District Nurse for advice as she would be able to work with them to sort it out.
2.  If this is something that a person with training needs to do and does not have to be a nurse then I have some agency names I would recommend which may or may not be in the correct area

I appreciate the care required is personal but if you can PM I might be able to advise differently.

Hope they get sorted.

As I said it's not for me so it would be ok to say as the person isn't known on this site. The couple just want to go away together and were fancying a cottage in the Lakes - romantic holiday sort of thing. But-  the male need suppositories administered not sure if its 2/3 times weekly. His G/F who is able bodied can do the rest. He will also need adapted place with hoist. he's a lovely guy and has been stuck indoors for yrs - I just wanted to try and help as He deserves some quality life.   Thanks Pam

If a person has a care package - health or social care - it can go with them on holiday.

In this case, talk to your District Nurse who should then make all the arrangements for you.
