why the differencewe as natural parents/carers to our offspring can at the moment only be paid carers allowance £48 ? [as long as we are not working] yet up here in scotland on the news tonight there was a childrens minister on saying starting in the new year kinship[relitives grandparents] carers are going to be paid upto £200 a week for looking after children whose parents are alchoholics or junkies and are thought to be at risk.
our children didnt ask to be the way they are nor did we get the choice of being there carer ,
ONCE again we are being penalised

Ps dont know if it is only up here or down in england as well but it was on the scottish news.

Good point Myra. We need to find out why.

I haven't heard of this Myra so it must just be in Scotland.
It's about time carers like us all here got a decent wage and we had more consideration for all we do for our loved ones.
It's a similar thing to foster carers as they get a wage but they do it out of choice most of the time and as a job rather than for the sake of their loved ones.
Let us know if you find out any more info.
