Plastic wrapping errrrrrrrrrrrrrWhy why why do companies have to wrap everything in plastic that is impossible to open unless you hack at it with a pair of scissors, or cut half your hand off attacking the contents with a knife in an attempt to get the product open?Ink for my printer, head phones I just bought, batteries etc etc all wrapped in layers of thick plastic with no way in! Note to manufactures: My new headphones are not made a cheese or have any food content that I am aware of, they will not go off if they get air to them. Please, save my hands, my teeth, my sanity and the planet into the bargain, stop wrapping them as if you are building a Chieftain tank! 
Am I alone here or do others get driven up the wall by this? |

I am with you too - The amount of plastic we have had to "unwrap" over the last few weeks is horrendous. Dom (my hubby) has the same problems as you as he can only use one had but even I have difficulty and often spend an eternity searching for a pair of scissors! |

I agree with you too.
I do have a few problems using my hands at times and find it often impossible to open some things and have to ask hubby to do it. I just bought some new bedding today and now I have a full carrier bag of plastic and cardboard to put in the wheelie. I wonder when manufacturers will get the message! |

Even with scissors, a knife and screwdriver I had problems breaking into my new electric toothbrush.
We could cause chaos by asking stores to unwrap things for us so they have to deal with the opening and disposal of the packaging.

Good idea - especially when the item is not a gift. Also you could see if all the pieces are there. If any of you order furniture I can recommend the Cotswold Company and also the delivery people for Ikea (well the firm that delivers to Cornwall and to Crowthorne for Ikea). Both of these unwrap, help you check and then take away all packaging. I am sure others do but it is brilliant - especially if it is large furniture and you need help. |

That is just so crass - not the idea but the fact that we have to have an invention to deal with inventions of plastic wrapping
