We had the other two girls and their families over for tea, so treasure hunts indoors and out were organised for the children. One very tired Pammy last night

Hope all is well with you all today. It is sunny but still rather chilly out still at least we can get the washing out.

Our trip delayed until Wednesday now since the planes were full and we were wait listed. Still gives me time to have my vitamin B12 injection done. Well I could if the clinic had the computer running but they are down and so cannot do appointmnets. Think my luck has got up and gone just lately!!!!!!

Pam you rest now after your hectic time. Annie I hope your kitchen is now all ship shape again. Every one else keep smiling.

I know our float wil beat them all

Just eaten quiche - just a few hundred pounds
Surely I did enough running around

But probably I eaten too many

And the running around has not made me lost any

So not to worry, off now I go
To change my clothes - what should I throw
On to keep me warm and snug
For the weather here is all a fuss

Warm then cloudy, then sun again
I wont be surprised to have some rain

Been for my B12 injection and so that is done for another three months at least.
Cannot believe that our passports have not arrived and it seems that at present they are lost in the post. Supposed to fly to Cyprus tomorrow but cannot unless they appear tomorrow before 1.0pm and so at present plans are in turmoil. Oh well just our luck I suppose. Yes I did shed a tear when they did not come in the post today I am just so fed up with all this now.

Chilly here today I think but it has not rained we just had a few spots when I was walking to the clinic.

Golly like winter again today only not quite as cold.

Passports lost in the post and so had to cancel travel plans. Having an appointment with the passport office on Friday and take it from there.
Just our usual luck.

Weather is wet and miserable today here in Southport and the forecast is not better for tomorrow either. Hope your Garden party goes well Annie but hope they have inside accomodation if the weather is poor.

We went to Liverpool yesterday for the passports and the appointment system works well. However it cost us £222 for two new passports to be ordered fast track and they should come within ten days now.They of course will not have visas in for Jeddah and so that will have to be delayed for now. Hoping to get off to Cyprus when the passports arrive then. Add on the train fares and lunch and phone calls and buying wine for the pal who signed the pictures and look at the cost. Also I had three years left to run on mine which are now lost. What a nuisance it all is.

No wonder my blood pressure is high really is it?

All have a lovely weekend and hope lots get raised for the charities.

Jan, won't Royal Mail pay compensation for loosing your passports especially as it's now costing you so much extra.

Gosh what a windy day it is the washing is doing a fast spin on the rotary dryer. I love to watch the washing on the line on a day like this. (Sad)

No Pixie because the guy sent them ordinary mail it is just too bad and our loss. He must have had a senior moment or something to send them via the ordinary mail but that is it. The Company in Jeddah have said that they will help us out with the new passports but we will see.

A very windy garden open day but we had many more visitors than we expected and added a fair bit to our total for charity, I was lucky as I was doing teas inside but really apart from the wind it was pleasantly warm and maybe a few people wanted an afternoon out after this rather dull summer.

Likewise Pixie I have the washing on the line again and it is sunny but still rather chilly.

If you read the newspapers at the moment they are frightening people to death. According to them gas and electric all rising by up to 40%. Oil also going up in price weekly and so making driving expensive. Food prices are rising almost weekly. Yet pay rises are to remain in the 2% area. How on earth do they expect single parents, lower paid workers like our dear nurses to manage then? It beats me. What about all the carers who are doing such wonderful work - are they supposed to freeze to death in winter whilst eating toast and little else to make ends meet!!!!!!!!

Afternoon to you all. Jan I do hope you now have your passports and Annie I was pleased to read your event went well. It was a rotten day here on Saturday we took a girl on the Rowsely Peak Steam Train and every time we stuck our heads out of the window to watch the engine being pulled we got wet through and it was cold with it as well. Never mind - we had a hot drink and a sticky bun when we got off - have to work extra hard at the gym tomorrow won't I. Not had time to go today as it's been the dreaded Tesco day!! and have a meeting soon - so must be off now byeeeee Pam

on a visit to our Fayre

Did you see the rain in Vienna during the semi finals of the football last night? Golly I thought that we got some heavy rain but nothing like they had and lightning as well. Strange for this time of year really.

Today it is the local carnival and so I do hope that is stays fine since so much efforet goes into the floats and the children are so excited.

We haven't been for a few years now. Last time we went it legged it down all day and we got drenched. I felt so sorry for the people taking part.

The carnival was very good, although not as big as in some previous years.

There was a group of Downs teenagers walking along with the collection buckets and when I gave one young man some coins his face lit up and honestly his smile made my day. They were all enjoying the band.

The weather stayed fine for them and so I am so pleased.

I just watched the procession and then came home since my heel is too sore to do much walking at the moment.

Me well have just completed a two day training on Emotional Abuse and Neglect - so have missed all the lovely weather - stil it was a lovely venue and lunch and we were able to sit outside in the gardens with our sarnies.

At least I didnot trip over the hound
So walking is difficult, painfully slow
And after sitting, pain to get up and go

And a dragonfly too - oh what a sight
Glue, tissue paper and glitter as much as we might
Now I have been a bit silly
In the stakes with the sun
And got a bit burnt
Two shoulders not one
I did put on suncream
But I guess not enough
So tonight I think sleeping
Will be a bit rough

Our sky is still blue
Not a cloud except up high
But I am hoping for rain
To pour from the sky
At least while I'm sleeping

for my plants who will fare
So much better if watered

Firstly a very hapy birthday to you Pam and you have the same birth date as our son Martin who is 39 today. So I hope you both have a lovely day and the weather seems to be looking good for you.

Speeds join the club with the sore foot but I hope it is not too bad but try not to be running around on it too much. Also get some cream on that sunburn before it causes damage to your skin. Have a good day.

Pixie he has given me bigger inserts for my shoes and told me not to wear sandals, although Crocs are OK if I am on a beach or similar. He wants me to wear trainers or shoes that are holding the foot properly. Other than trying not to walk on it too much there is not much else they can do for now. He says I can swim but not walk much. Thanks for asking.

Belated Happy Birthday Pam - hope you had a good day.

I had a busy day yesterday - out at 7.45 to hospt with Thomas for orthoptics and then dietician. Back to school and then off to my friends for a 3 hour teleconf for work, straight home, collect rugby stuff, collect Thomas from school, watch rugby, home at 5pm, tea for Thomas, stain a sheet for our banner, cook tea for Dominic eat, watched a recorded Cold Case and then bed.

Hmm - today will be just as hectic.

Off to Sarah's to speak with PWSA about organising a conference, paint banner, nurse in for Dom at 4, Dom off to governors at 5, cook tea (oh and in there is the Thomas to and from school etc).

Heel was a little better in a different pair of shoes today but this insert the physio gave me is not easy to wear!!!!!

Had endless phone calls to Liverpool passport office and British Consulate in Jeddah trying to get our passports sorted. What a nightmare. Hoping now that we can pick them up on Saturday in Liverpool or at the latest on Monday. Oh I hope so.

Well at last we went to Liverpool and picked up the new passports. Now the Cyprus Airways flights are full and so we will get off as soon as we can get a flight. Not long now thanks God.

On the drive back from Liverpool we saw the most fantastic cruise ship picking up the passengers. It is called the "Grand Princess" and I have never seen a boat like it in my life. I do not like sailing but for anyone who does it must be worth saving up for. Wow.

Vicky our daughter ran the "Race for Life" at Worden Park in Leyland and I think that they raised a lot for the cancer charity.

We minded her two little lads since Barry was at work today - he is a firefighter in Liverpool.

So nice to relax now since little Sam has talked me to death about a Kung Fu Panda!!!!!!

Good to hear that everyone is plodding on and nothing too worrying for anyone at the moment.

I have just been to aqua aerobics and now my heel is shouting that it was just too much for it. Glad to rest it whilst I do an hour on the computer.

Speeds I have a good friend who has a house and an apartment in Marlow and her daughters live there as well. She is called Marie Lines and used to have "The Lodge" but sold it when her husband died. She lives in Cyprus for half of the year now. It would be funny if you knew the family.

What do you work as Speeds?

It's very late to say Good Day but I hope everyone is OK. Weather sun and showers here.

Lessons learnt today:

1. Learn to stare back harder when people stare at me taking Thomas (aged 7) in to ladies loo
2. Shock horror - the new car park at Terminal 5 prints your reg number on the ticket from the camera

scared the living daylights out of me
3. That I could wave the said ticket in front of a machine and it would tell me which space I had parked in - getting way to BB for me

Anyway - Mum safely despatched to France to see my brother and I have had a relatively relaxing day save for the 5.15am get up time.

Hello all

Sorry to be saying hi so late inthe day. Had a horrid day yesterday - tyre blew out on Merc on M3, was late for mum at airport and could not contact her as I had lost my mobily.

Then last night had a dose of food poisoning.

Hope everyone has had better days than me.

Sunny here today though and we are clearing hte house in to a skip!

It's very sunny here too but extremely windy. I think they are having trouble with their balls at the open just up the road from us.

Lovely here in Derbyshire as well. We have our village carnival at the weekend so the weather will probably change foe that

Our school breaks up on Wednesday this week sooo appologies now if I'm not coming on the site. we are extremelly busy this year but still need to check mail so will try and pop on when I do that.

A 6 week break to have some fun
