Hi all had a crap day (well morning )yesterday but ok up until now today.
Went to work at 7.30 parked car up at railway station put money in parking metre - ticket didnt come out! Had to go to office on station to sort it out they took my car details and off I went - just managed to catch my train. Finished work got on train had half my sandwich - saw loads of footie fans heading for our train with beer bottles and cans in hands. Total chaos as they had decided to change the trains sooooooo people on my train were trying to get off as the footie fans were getting on. Settled down on the train (again) had second half of sarnie. Got back to my car a bloody parking ticket slapped on it??? Back to station masters office. Anyway they voided the parking fine but it was icing on the cake (not!!) was that folks.   Pam

Good evening everyone.

It sounds like you have all had a bad day or so. I hope it gets better for you all with the weekend approaching. xx

My daughter had a good birthday with a little party food at work and lots of cards and presents.

We got her a new ipod which she is busy enjoying as we speak.

Have a good evening everyone.
pam

I've bought an ipod Pixie for the gym as I can't do with the racket they blast out there   - still trying to sort it out.  Pam
pixie

I can't figure out these new fangled things either.

I've got an freeview box here but with the sky box and video/DVD player/recorder I don't know how on earth it will all work together.

I am dreading digital coming in.

pixie

Good morning everyone.

It's dull here today but no sign of any rain.

My lad's off to the cinema today to see Iron Man with Dad while I get stuck into the ironing.

I hope everyone has a good Friday and a great weekend. xx
pam

Morning all (sound like Dixon of Dock Green don't I) maybe this should be on the memory lane section
Anyway off to the gym 3rd time this week so getting into the swing of things now - I just wish they would fix the air conditioning which hasn't been working since I joined. 2 ladies were complaining last night to a member of staff. I come out like a beetroot in colour - mind you some of that will be because I am so needing the exercise and unfit!
Anyway enough waffle from me -  off I go 1234 up 234!!  Byeeeeee Pam

Good Afternoon

Hi Folks,

Sounds like some bad days for one or two of us this week.

My Grandson had a good birthday but he and his mates all went on the trampoline together (not allowed) and he got bounced off and bumped his head but luckily only a round lump appeared and he is fine.

Hubby had a good birthday yesterday and the family came around for a buffet and all the kids played with the "crazy bones" and it was a crazy half hour or so. I was shattered last night.

This may sound funny but my heel has been giving me hell this last few days. Every time I put my foot down a pain shoots into my heel. Talk about feel like an old woman. I have pernicious anaemia and take statins as well and I wonder if that has anything to do with it. It is agony.

Have a nice weekend all,

Jan x x

It's a bit wet and miserable here today but not cold as such. I must admit I do have the heating on low though.

I hope your heel feels better soon Jan and that everyone has a good weekend. xx

Good Afternoon

Hi All,

Just had this sent to me by my friend in Oman and so thought that perhaps it is worth sharing even though it is a bit long.

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE THAT CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY
TO ' TRY ' ( ' try '  being the key word ) TO ELIMINATE
CANCER,& nbsp; JOHN HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU
THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY  !!

Cancer Update from John Hopkins :

           1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer
cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have
multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients
that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after
treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the
cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

           2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a
           person's lifetime

           3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells
will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming
           tumors.

           4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has
multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to
genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

           5. To overcome the multiple nutritiona l deficiencies, changing
diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune
           system.

           6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer
cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the
bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ
damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

           7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars
and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

           8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often
reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and
radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.

9 When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and
radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed,
hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and
           complic ations.

           10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate
and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also
cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

           11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer
cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

           CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

           a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off
one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar
substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with
Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would
be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts.
Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color.
Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.

           b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gas
tro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off
milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk cancer cells
           are being starved.

           c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based
diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken
rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock
antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all
harmful, especially to people with cancer.

           d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains,
seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an
alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food
including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes
that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels
within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy
cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try
and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean
sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day.
Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40
           degrees C).

           e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine.
Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting
properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to
avoid know n toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled
           water is acidic, avoid it.

           12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of
digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines
become putrefied and leads to more toxic buildup.

           13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By
refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to
attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's
killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

           14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6,
           Flor-ssence,Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs
etc.) to enable the body's own killer cells to destroy cancer
cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause
apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method
of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.

           15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A
proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a
survivor. Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into
a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and
forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.
           16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment.
Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen
down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means
           employed to destroy cancer cells.

(PLEASE FORWARD IT TO PEOPLE YOU CARE ABOUT)

CANCER UPDATE FROM JOHN HOPKINS HOSPITAL, U S - PLEASE READ

1 No plastic containers in micro.

           2. No water bottles in freezer.

           3. No plastic wrap in microwave.

Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters.
This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army
           Medical Center as well.
Dioxin chemicals cause cancer, especially breast cancer.
Dioxin s are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies.
Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this
           releases dioxins from the plastic.
Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at
Castle Hospital , was on a TV program to explain this health
hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us..
He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave
           using plastic containers.
This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that
the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin
into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body.
Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex
or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same
results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners,
instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the
container and heated in something else.
Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper. It's
just safer to use tempe red glass, Corning Ware, etc. He
reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants
moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin
problem is one of the reasons.

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just
as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the
microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous
toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into
the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.

This is an article that should be sent to anyone important in
           your life.

Just going to watch the cup final now. Have a good weekend all.

Interesting article Jan, I will read again later. Busy couple of days as I have been baking for a local garden open day today, seems the Gods might have smiled on us as it is fine so far here and we might have some visitors,

GOOD Morning

Hi All,

Cool but bright here today and so I do hope that your charity event goes well Annie. Well done to you for doing the baking as well.

My heel is a lot better now but I am taking things a little easier. If only I could motivate myself to lose the weight I know that it would help.

All have a lovely Sunday and I hope the weather keeps up for all the charity events today for all the good causes.

Jan x
pam

Good evenong all. Had a busy weekend so ready for an early night.
Pleased your heel is feeling easier Jan.
I am finding the gym a good way to help me lose the weight I need to. Dieting alone is hopeless as i seem to have a slow metabolic rate. Anyway have been 3 times during the last 2 weeks and managed to cut down on the food intake. I mainly use the tread mill20  (mins) and bycycle(20 mins) if I keep my heart rate to 105 or just above I know I am in the 'fat burn mode' if my hearty rate goes a bit high the machines automatically cut down the speed/level. Also do some leg and arm thingies so in there about an hour. - Lost 6 pounds up to now - mind you I can't tell yet there's so much flab on there.
I actually enjoy it as well??? Yehhhhhh all that sweat and thirst come out looking like a lobster -   Still if it shifts the flab its worth it.   Pam
Annie

Glad to hear you heel is better Jan, think I got my workout biking against the wind going down the village this morning. Considering that it was cloudy and windy we didnt do too badly yesterday, about 50 visitors.

I bake for several local charities Jan, keeps me busy since I lost Julie and helps other people out as well. Besides most people like a bit of cake occasionally and flab takes a back seat when they are treating themselves.

Good Afternoon

Hi All,

Well I have just been to aqua aerobics and done the usual work out which I enjoy. Trouble is now I am having some pain in the heel again but perhaps I did too much too soon. It is not as bad as before though.

Good on you Annie for the charity event.
My Goddaughter is a teacher and she ran in the Race for Life yesterday and she dressed in the school uniform so that the pupils would sponsor her and she finished the race and raised over £400 as well.

Is Speeds OK she has not posted for a day or so?
All for now folks enjoy your day.

Good evening all.

I'm pleased to hear Speeds is OK. I know she's such a busy bunny most of the time.

It's been busy here too the last couple of days with lots of spring cleaning
and generally sorting the house out a bit.
At least hubby and son have been out and about so I could get on.

I'm glad your event went well Annie.

Well done to your Goddaughter Jan, that's a lot to raise.

It looks like everyone has been busy doing lots of things instead of boring old housework.

Have a good evening. xx
pixie

Good morning everyone.

It's lovely and sunny here today.

I hope you all have a good day whatever your doing. xx

GOOD MORNING

Hi All,

Well I don't know about boring housework I have just done a pile of ironing, but at least it is done now. In the summer my hubby seems to change his shirts twice a day and he must think that I have a fairy who comes along and gets them all laundered again!!!!!!!

We went to Ormskirk on Saturday morning and there was a car in the car park with the registraion like "Pixie" was it you Pixie?

All have a lovely day.

Hello all

Sorry - I am fine - just been trying to keep up with the posts and have not managed to post on the Good Day for a while.

I had agility yesterday and today.  I had recorders too and also did my shopping.

Today the gardeners have just arrived and I have to get the huose sorted as I am off to do a house check for another dog tonight.  BUT I am also looking after one of Thomas school friends as our childminder is off to ZA for a few days.  Tomorrow Thomas has tag after school and I had offered to help with Cycling Proficiency after school but now I also have M and I to look after too

Thursday I have the 3 kids after school, washing machine being fixed and other stuff going on.  I am hoping to see Sarah too as she wil be back fro America

Friday I have coffee with Kelly and then Music Assembly at school where my recorder group are playing to their live Parent audience which should be fun (5 and 6 year olds who have had 4 lessons).

Sat I will be packing and cleaning the house as MIL is coming to stay with Dom and the dogs - Thomas and I are off to Cornwall.

Pam and I had a quick chat the other night which was lovely too.
Speeds

So have a lovely day everyone.

Must do some tidying now
pixie

My you have been busy Speeds.

I hope you all enjoy your visitors and half term next week.

Sleep well everyone. xx

Good morning folks what a lovely day - gym day today then off to the hairdressers later. Hope you all have a lovely day. Pam

Off to Clin Pysch with Thomas and his 121.

Have a lovely day everyone

It's another lovely day here too today.

Hope all goes well with Thomas today Speeds.

Enjoy the gym Pam, don't overdo it.

Have a good day everyone. xx
Speeds

Tha appointment went fine thank you - our new Clin Psych is lovely and she had a great student with her.

We have come to a common agreement in the frequency of visits and how we can operate.

I am very lucky I know in that Thomas is borderline for some therapies so sometimes it is difficult to justify seeing him.  I am trying to get as many therapists to understand me as a mother, how I operate as a mother, the fact that I am not one for being on the phone every 5 mins with every little problem but to operate the SOS system so that Thomas can be seen as required and not have structured appointments which may or may not coincide with a behavioural problem or other PWS related problem.

While this clinic will not do true SOS we have written an agreed system for contact in his notes so that they can discharge him but so that I will get an appointment if and when I need it in the future.

I have this system in place already with the ENT department and also Growth Clinic and Dietician.

One day I will have moulded the world to me
MackenzyJan

Good Afternoon

Well done Speeds to have got the powers that be to listen to you and to agree to your needs as and when they arise. It is no use having appointments that are not when a problem has arisen.

Is Thomas autistic or similar problem then Speeds?

Have a nice day everyone.

Jan
Annie

Lovely day here today, well done Speeds, a sensible way forward for both you and Thomas.

Just contemplating what to do this evening as hubby will be watching football, might take a long trek with the dog,

                                                                Annie
Speeds

Thomas has Prader Willi Syndrome and some of the traits exhibited by PWS can be very autistic in their nature.

They have emotional problems - the way I can describe it is that they fall outside the normal barrier - eg - child drops a toy ont he floor - child goes oh dear, Thomas would cry and be upset.

They have skin picking issues and we wanted to talk about this.

I am trying to be proactive with Thomas - having a diagnosis of a condition shouldn't mean we expect things as everyone is different but we should be prepared up front with a suite of tools to use at the first sign of a PWS characteristic.

Thomas is actually a delightful child, very sociable and happy, speech improving and doing well (for him) at school.  However his ability to manage emotions needed to be discussed.

Good morning all - it keeps raining in Derbyshire but not cold.

Enjoy lunch Pam, the rain hasn't reached here yet but it is clouding up rapidly, yesterday visited Spadework,  local nursery where some of our people train, bought some plants and compost so hoping the rain might water them in,

GOOD MORNING

Hi All,

Hope that you all have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend. Weather not too sure here in Southport but still it is nice to have a break.

I was in the Town Centre yesterday and there were two small ponies and they were collecting money (or their handlers were) for disabled children to use them as patting ponies. I thought of you all and put my contribution in the tin. They were so cute and no bigger than a big dog and I am sure that the children will love them to bits.

GOOD MORNING

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

We went shopping yesterday and we were out for all day and  I was tired out last night. So today we are sorting some boxes from the garage and Ian will want to watch the Grand Prix at 1.0pm on the TV. Other than that we are having a quiet day today.
We are waiting for our passports to come back from London with fingers crossed our visas in them to go to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia for a quick business trip towards the end of next week. So are happy to just mess about this weekend.

Love to all and keep safe and well whatever you are up to.

It's blowing a gale out there today!!!

A quiet day planned here today too. Well maybe not that quiet as my son has his new game Rock Band which is very loud.

Enjoy your trip to York Pam and your trip to Saudi Arabia Jan.

Have a great holiday weekend everyone. xx

Gale force winds yesterday and torrential rain over night but mostly a pleasant day today here, spent most of it sorting out drowned plants from last nights rain,

We have the rain today but thank goodness the wind has gone.

Had to put the heating back on too but it's not too cold, more damp really.

Lots to do today with all the washing my daughter brought home from camping.

I hope you all have a good day. xx

Good Afternoon

Hi All,

Our Granddaughter Emily who is 5 years old has been poorly on and off for around one week now. Our Michelle her Mum took her to the Doctors last week and was told it was a chest infection but gave her no medication.
Sunday night she was screaming all night with ear ache and so Michelle took her to the on call Doctor and he gave her antibiotics. Last night she was again up all night this time vomiting. First thing this morning we took her back to the doctors and by this time the poor thing could hardly walk and we carried her into the surgery. Given a note to take her to Ormskirk hospital for her to be admitted to the children' ward. Well honestly they took her obs and put her in a single room and left us with her. I am not joking when I say that one hour later she had not been seen by anyone and was just in the room with her Mum and I. They left us to do the fluids chart and note any vomiting and just left us with a glass of water for her.

Three hours later the Doctor appears and tells us that he feels that she could be nursed at home since she has a viral infection and a water infection. Gives Michelle a note that if she gets any worse she can come back to the ward with Emily and discharges us.

Now poor child back at home with no medication, exhausted, with a tired Mum and back to square one. I am disgusted I really am.

That is my rant for the day. Hope she slowly improves. I cannot go away knowing that she is poorly like this.

Jan
pixie

Oh Jan that's terrible. Poor little mite. She sounds so poorly and has not had the attention she needs to help her get better quicker.

I know we shouldn't always want antibiotics as our bodies will overcome most infections alone but she sounds so poorly surely it wouldn't have done any harm to at least help with the ear and water infection.

I hope she gets better soon as children so young get poorly so quickly but equally they seem to bounce back quickly too.
Let us know how she is when you get a chance.

Give her a big hug from me. xx
Annie

Jan, sorry to hear about your granddaughter, wish her better soon, it must be such a worry for all of you.

No rain today so far, have a nice day tomorrow,

Good Afternoon

Hi,

Well Emily had a good night last night and today she has managed to eat a very small amount and to take water better. She has not been as sick and has slept a lot during the day. So let us hope that she is slowly on the mend. As I left at tea time she managed to give me a smile and blow me a kiss - priceless. Thanks God.

Raining all day here but weather forecast is a little better for the next few days.

Hope you are all well.

Hello Again

Hi,

Just to say that Emily is much better today and she says her dizziness has gone and she is much brighter in herself. More chatty and more like the little girl that we love so much.

Still waiting for our Saudi visas they are so slow and laid back.

Lovely day here in Southport today. Hope all is well with you all.

That's great news Jan. They bounce back so quickly thank goodness.

I hope you get your visas soon and can now enjoy your break in Saudi.

Hiya folks, returned home today from our little break in York which we enjoyed. We stayed in the Best Western Monk Bar Hotel very near to the Minster. Daughter had a great accessible room with lovely large bathroom with roll in shower and bath in. Our room was next to it and had a great zaccuzi bath with an abundance of hot water and soooooooo deep. Boy were we ready after a day around York. will catch up with all your news when I get the chance.   Pam
pixie

It sounds like you had a great break and the hotel sounds wonderful.

It's been a quiet few days here with not much to report, just busy, busy round the house.

It has been nice and warm despite it being cloudy and dull.

Have a good weekend everyone. xx

Good Afternoon

The break and hotel sounds to have been lovely Pam. Those Best Western are usually good and friendly since they are usually family owned. York is very nice as well but tiring as you say. Glad you had a really nice time Pam.

Our Emily continues to improve and so we are grateful for that.

Visas not out of the Embassy today and so it will be Monday perhaps now and then they have to come up here to us and so I guess it will be Wednesday or Thursday before we go now at least.

Have a nice weekend all. Most of all a healthy one.

Good Morning

Hi All,

The weather here is certainly not flaming June it looks like rain and yesterday we went to Myerscough College Open Day (Agricultural and Equestrian College) and it poured down all day. My Goddaughter is there though and we watched the events in the inside arena and it was fun.

Today and tomorrow the water has been turned off in our area and so hard to do any washing and cleaning so a good excuse to have a lazy day apart from a little ironing perhaps.

Emily much better now thanks all but still not 100% at all.

All have a nice day.

Jan
pixie

Good afternoon everyone.

It is a bit dull here today but still warm and I'm hoping my washing will dry.

I hope they have given you some bottled water Jan? What a pain, no water for 2 days!!

I'm glad Emily is feeling lots better and hope she'll soon be 100%.

Well it would have been back to school for most today and I hope Speeds had a good break in Cornwall.

It is piddling here today
Soaked to the skin while I was away
Dropping Thomas off to school
The lane was a swimming pool

Now while this is a tad embarrassing
It'll make you laugh, this little thing
So wet was I when I came home
That here iI sit by my telephone

In just a Tshirt and my knickers
Just to make you all a snicker
My trousers are drying, my coats awash
My socks are soggy from my boots (not posh)

So have a good day one and all
Got plenty to do while the rain does fall
Another agility lesson cancelled today
So rain rain please go away

Good Afternoon

Well that certainly made me laugh Speeds but hope that you had a hot bath later or you will catch cold.

Pixie the flipping water board have pushed another note through all our doors today saying that we can have water tomorrow and then Thursday and Friday it is off again from 8.0am - 6.0pm. Such a nuisance and we have to fill pans and so on to last for the day. Flushing the loo is the problem though especially if the children are here. We have to have buckets by the loo to flush after a poo.      That rhymes I am following Speeds lead with the poetry!!!!

Nice evening though now and so will have a relaxing evening I hope.

Jan

Good morning everyone.

It's lovely here today and warm too.

We have Sam's annual review today (that should be fun) so not around much. I'll let you all know how it goes later. Fingers crossed they will offer him something.

Jan what a mess turning you off again. How are you coping? If you need anything let us know, we're not far away from you.

Have a good day everyone. xx

Good Afternoon

Hi All,

What is Sam having an assessment for Pixie and is he your son? Good luck anyway.

Done all my washing today and so hope that it dries now. Ready for the water off again for the next two days. I suppose it makes us realise how we take running water and all our Western lifestyle for granted.

Have a lovely day everyone.
pixie

It's his annual review as he has special needs. Yes he is my son and he was very good at the meeting too.

I hope you have some peace from the lack of water by the weekend.

Have a good day everyone. xx
MackenzyJan

Good Afternoon

Good news then for Sam and well done to him Pixie. You must be proud today then and rightly so.
pixie

Thanks Jan, we are both very proud of him.
MackenzyJan

Good Evening

Pixie does Sam go to the Phab Club on Friday evenings at all. Our Grandson Luke goes as one of the able bodied ones. He is only just 11 and he goes with Lewis his friend whose Gran has a Downs daughter and also they have one or two special needs adults living with them in King Street. Luke loves going and has made some nice friends with the special needs people. We have brought him up to enjoy the company of people who have needs.

Jan
pixie

Another lovely day here and plenty of washing to do.

We used to go to the Phab club when it first started and then again later when it moved.

I think Sam may be too old now as he's 16. I think there's an adult club too isn't there? Maybe we'll look into that for him.

I hope you all have a good day. xx
MackenzyJan

Good Morning

Hope everyone is well and has a good day.

Pixie I know that they go to the swimming baths each friday and also do some other excercises. Some of the lads I have seen when we have picked Luke up are certainly around the 16 age group and they all have fun together. Ring the Dunes swimming baths and they may have the details of who runs it. Or perhaps Lewis's Nan will give you any information if you are interested for Sam.

Another day without water and so another excuse to walk to the park and have a coffee there.

Jan
pam

sorry to hear your water works are out of order again Jan when we havent got it we realised how much we need it dont we.
It's lovely again here today. Went to the gym at 8.45 then shopped for mum just having a coffee before taking her shopping down.   Pam
pixie

Well Jan swimming is the one thing Sam hates. I used to love it but he's always had a thing about water as well as the noise in the baths.

I guess he won't want to go so we'll look for something else, maybe the adult group.

I hope you've managed without water today and that after this week they won't be turning you off again.

Have a good evening everyone. xx
pixie

It's dull and miserable here today.

My daughter has gone mountain biking and the young man is just getting up, typical teenager.

Not much planned today except to tidy up the house and some ironing.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Hi All

Just jumped on here as I am waiting for my hair dye to work

Have a wonderful day all - it is lovely and sunny here.  Thomas is in the garden playing with the dogs, DOm is in the shower and I will be there soon.

Then the usual - swimming and then off for a walk with the pooches.

Have a fun weekend everyone
MackenzyJan

Good Afternoon

We have been to the little Victorian Day in Ainsdale Village with our daughter and Granddaughter. Luckily the weather stayed fine and they had a puppet show and a little parade and rides and so on and it was a pleasant day. They raised money for the Derian House Childrens' Hospice and also the Queenscourt Hospice and so to be honest it was money well spent for such good causes.
Left Michelle now baking with Emily since Emily bought some gooseberries to make Granddad a pie with. We had not got through the door before she had her apron on and was at the ready.

Have a nice weekend all.

Nice day here so far as well, sounds as if Emily has recovered well Jan,

Good Afternoon

Hi Annie,

Thanks for asking yes Emily is much like her self again now. She still tires easily but is eating and being just her usual bossy self again now. It was a viral infection and an ear infection and they seem to have cleared now although her other Gran seems to think that it has left her a bit deaf and wants to take her for a hearing test.
pixie

It turned out to be nice yesterday afterall and today it looks lovely too.

Glad to hear you had a good day and that Emily is much better now.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday. xx
MackenzyJan

GOOD MORNING

Well what a gorgeous day today. All get your sun tops on and enjoy it whilst it lasts. Have a special day all in the really nice weather.
Annie

Lovely day here, enjoy it every body.

Good to hear about Emily Jan, might be wise to get her hearing checked if she if prone to ear infections, better to act before too much damage is done,

Morning all, it's 10.53
What a day already for me
Been to the dentist, for new fillings in white
Took an hour to do them, felt like a fight

My mouth is numb, my head is too
Try keeping your mouth open, dribbling goo
My lips are sore, my smile is wonky
I looked inthe mirror and feel like a donkey

I hope that I'll be ready by two
Numbness gone, and lips not blue
For Year 1 recorders beckons then
And I have to play to all of them

But back to the day, so sunny and bright
I love it when there's this much light
So now to find a little drink to have
Through a straw, kid-like, so can't be bad

Have a happy day, one and all
Enjoy the sun, while here it does stall.
pixie

What a lovely day again.

I don't know where all the washing comes from but I have 2 more loads out today.

My eldest is coming to visit later today so a busy afternoon planned.

I hope you can drink more like a grown up later Speeds.

Have a good day everyone. xx

The sun is shinning again and it looks nice out there.

Still loads to do today, is there ever any free time round here?

I hope you all have a good day and find some time to chill a little. xx

GOOD MORNING

Seems just a little bit fresher today and that is nice. I have panda eyes from Sunday from watching the band in the park with my sunglasses on. The grandchildren have pointed this out to me like I am an alien, they are so honest kids but they do nothing for your self confidence!!!!

Have a nice day all.

Today was Tuesday, full of fun
And naughty dogs, two not one
I dropped the monster off to school
And then came home to loads of drool

Today the **** had been more bad
It really did make me so sad
For my three bread puddings which were there
Had disappeared, the worktop bare

A rotund dog appeared to me
Yes, the one who was off to agility
He went and hid when he heard me come
But then thought he was missing lots of fun

So off I went to agility
That rotund theiving dog and me
But run - well forget it could he? No
Throwing up instead, bread pudding did go

Over the field for me to clear
So that others did not eat it as I'd fear
So £15 wasted as he could not run
Not at all with such a full tum

Then back home for lunch (yes just for me)
And time to have a cup of tea
Then off to school to help make
Butterflies and leaves for kids to shake

For our carnival float on 5-July
That's when we'll shake those butterflies
For our float in the theme of "Fun and Fantasy"
For everyone in Crowthorne to see

Is Hatch Ride School's Secret Garden, see
With elves and fairies and gnomes, so pretty
We hope to win the primary school prize
With our play on the theme, our floats diguise.

Then after school to Nannny's home
So Thomas see her instead of by phone
Then home to bed and cooking for me
So Dom and I could have our tea

And now I'm to here to catch up on gossip and chat
So I hope you all had a good day - and that's that
MackenzyJan

GOOD MORNING

Thanks for that Speeds your poems and content always bring a smile to my face. Poor you though - good job you have patience.

Pam slowly I am becoming a one eyed Panda now. Ha Ha.

Hope that you all have a nice day. Weather not too bad here in Southport today Pixie.

We are still waiting for our passports back and so still here. I had a migraine when I awoke but I know that it is the stress of not knowing what is happening. Never mind that is life.

Thank you Jan for your kind words
These poems are fun, a way to be heard
The day here is overcast, even grey
I feel summer has moved away

But outside its warm, not cold
Just no sun to cheer us, so I'm told
But off to London later I go
To see a friend, wish the trains weren't so slow

This morning I'm off to see Sarah for coffee
She's off tomorrow to France for a wedding so toff..ee
Her BIL is getting married in a do so posh
It took us hours to find her a frock

Her little Hannah is a bridesmaid too
A pretty dress and silver shoes
So today I will have coffee and a chat
Before she is off to the wedding with no hats

For hats have been banned for some unknown quirk
Not sure why, seems weird, for them to shirk
The one time we wear hats with pleasure
For them to go back in to boxes for us to treasure

But now I bid you one and all
That a good day does your way fall
Not too much rain or ugly weather
Just lots of sun for lots of pleasure
pixie

I love your poems Speeds, they brighten my day no end.

Hubby has taken Sam off to play snooker this morning. Then this afternoon his tutor is coming to do some work with him. He's not looking forward to that bit so the snooker is a little sweetener to hopefully get him in a good mood.

I'm going to get on in the house while they are out. It's nice to have the peace and quiet for a couple of hours.

I hope you all have a good day. xx

Morning all from a weird day
Raining all night now sun's here to play

Laminating a photo before the bell

Belle and Zola as well as the past lot
So getting rehearsed we have done today
Getting ready with what to say.

So have a god day one and all
House work here, oh what a ball!
Will pop on later to see whats what
So for the time being, that's your lot

GOOD MORNING

Hi All,

Hope that Thomas's show and tell goes fine today and I am sure that the children will enjoy seeing the photos of the dogs.

Also hope that Sam did well with his tutor. I think that he will have done his best and that is all that matters at the end of the day.

Bit chilly here today and we had a few showers last night. I watched a hedgehog playing in the garden it was much better fun than the football on the box.

Have a nice day all.

Annie

Hello every one, just catching up, very soggy day here, I have to clear my kitchen, a leak in the bathroom and the plaster board needs repairing, not looking forward to that tomorrow.

Loved hearing about the dog and the bread pudding Speeds, dogs will be dogs.

I hope Sam got on with his tutor Pixie,

 Nice day all
                     Annie.
pam

Hello all. Cooler today.
I have been doing a bit of catching up with what everyone is up to. I see speads has been busy clearing puuk, lovely job that isn't it especially from a dog!!
Sounds as if Annie is going to have a busy day - i hope the leak is sorted soon so you can get your kitchen back to normal Annie.
Jan I would agree with you about the hedgehog being better entertainment than football - how long is it going to last? have you lost your Panda eyes now.
Pixie I love having the house to myself as well but rarely get it.
Me - well after a day at work yesterday I am going to have a quiet afternoon.   pam
pixie

Good luck to Thomas today with his presentation.

Sam enjoyed his snooker yesterday and the tutor went down well.

He gave Sam some work to do and helped out with questions we had about college.

Sam has already done the work that was set for him, and a good job he's made of it too.

He's off to the cinema later to see the Hulk with Dad.

Hope you all have a good day. xx

GOOD MORNING

It is much cooler today and I think that we will have some rain.

I am off to the Doctors at 11.20am since I am still having a big problem with my heel. I bought some inserts from Boots that cost me £22 but still I am in a lot of pain. Even got my Mum's old walking stick out to help me hobble about. Hope he can tell me what it is at least.

We are supposed to be going away this week for sure as well. So hope I can get it sorted or it will be a problem.

Have a nice day all.

Jan
pam

Good morning.  Pixie I'm pleased Sam enjoyed his snooker let me know what the Hulk is like as I may end up sitting through that.
Jan I hope your heel problem is sorted soon. I remember my aunt having problems with hers a few years ago turned out to be ackilees tendon, obviously don't know how to spell that!  Pam

Hello all.

Another nice but cooler day here.

Just done a 150 mile round trip to transport a doggy to a foster home - took me nearly 4 hours so I am shattered.

Mopped the floors and now on here!

Jan - sorry to hear that your heel is not better.

Pixie - pleased that Sam enjoyed his snooker

Pam - hope you are having a good day too ...................and everyone else.

I think the show and tell went well - not that I found out much from the monster.

Off to school, in a minute to collect him.
MackenzyJan

Good Afternoon

Hi all,

Doctor says that the problem with my heel is Platnar fascilitis some sort of stretching of a muscle or something. Have to go for physio when I come back from trip and if that does not do it see a specialist for an injection or surgery. Have to take pain killers in the meantime.

Blood pressure is well up as well and so not in good shape at the moment. Never mind will try to relax when I am away.

Have a nice weekend all.

That is painful Jan. I also had the same thing a while back. I hope you get it sorted soon.
It really sounds like you need the break so I hope you get away soon and can feel refreshed.

The hulk was good so enjoy if you go and see it.

I hope you all have a restful weekend as it sounds like we all need a rest.
Annie

Rather a dull day here, leak fixed  in the bathroom and plaster board in kitchen repaired, just need a coat of skim on Monday, then I can put all the bits back.

Sorry to hear about Jans heel, it sounds very painful, wish you well.

Glad Sam enjoyed the snooker and hope he gets his college place.

 Have a good Sunday,
