I'm usually up by 5.30am, Jennie.

Not today, as you can see!

Hope everyone has a good day.
pixie

Good morning Charles and everyone.

It's wet and miserable here today and we had some snow earlier this morning.

I hope you all have a good day.
Speeds

Morning all, its sunny here
But rather chilly too I fear
We've had some snow
Well it gave a go
But nothing to make the kids all cheer

I'm back to work trying to catch up
From resting after this horrid cough
So I'll bid you all a pleasant day
Coz on the forum I mustn't stay
pam

Good morning all Ihave just been catching up on your chats from yesterday.
Fairydust I wish I could walk 6 miles in this cold weather - we went to the Buxton Raceway yesterday and it was bitterly cold - (it's on high open ground ) We always pay the extra £5 to park up to the fence which means we can sit in the car and watch. Leading up to the gates was snow covered in ice and a wall of snow each side I was scared sugar puffs driving up there especially when we had to keep stopping whilst others payed to get in. The walk from where we were parked to the toilets were icy (but turning sloshy in parts) and only took about 5 mins the toilets were freezing to sit on and the water for washing hands icy cold!   On getting back to the car I coughed so much it exausted me. Wasn't that easy with 2 wheelchair users either - but we managed and enjoyed ourselves.
Pixie keep going love your doing great.!!!
Charles - you sure are an early bird! - I like my nice warm bed on these cold days. You remind me of my brother who gets up early - even when not at work - he came on Sunday and had been up and out walking the dog then off shooting for a few hrs. Pam
pixie

Good evening, I hope you've all had a good day.

My son and his fiancee came to visit today. They are both keeping well and managing OK too.

It's his birthday on Friday so we gave him his cards and a few bob to spend on himself.

It's been a tough few days and the cigs are back in our lives.

I got very ill over the weekend so off to the GP later in the week. It was like coming off hard drugs instead of cigs and was really scary.

We will have to do it with lots of medical help I think as it may have been a reaction to the NRT.

Still determined to stop but it will have to be done right so I don't get so ill again. I thought I was going to end up in hospital it was that bad!!

Anyway enough already.

Have a good evening everyone.
pam

Oh dear Pixie so sorry to hear that - like you say you may have to do it at a slower pace - good luck Pam
fairydust

Hey Pixie not to worry you will get their in the end.....Pam once you have been walking for awhile you soon warm up.....Im off to my friends now we alternate her house and mine and we have a stitching evening, there are 5 of us, some do x stitch, embroidery or card making....oh and of course a nice drink!!
pam

Sounds great fairydust - I used to enjoy cross stitch  the carpel tunnels put a stop to that!!
Hope you enjoy your night .  Pam
Speeds

Sorry to hear you have been so ill Pixie.  Hopefully the Dr can help too.

Get Well Soon
pixie

Thanks to you all.

I'm fine now thanks Speeds. It really was like coming off hard drugs for some reason so back to the cigs and off to the docs to sort it all out.

Like you say maybe a slower pace is need with additional help and monitoring.

I hope your feeling better now too Speeds. xx
pam

My daughter has used the nicorette gum to help her to stop Pixie.   Pam
pixie

Good evening. What a busy day today.

I don't feel as if I've done much but I've not stopped all day.

I hope everyone has had a good day and has a nice quiet evening.
Speeds

Good evening all, what a day to tell
Another day of children hell
For my childminder is away
So I've 2 of her kids after school to play

Hoping everyone is keeping well
With pleasant evenings, you can tell
pixie

Good morning all. Another busy day here today.

Got the decorators in next week so lots of sorting out to do and furniture to move etc.

It's very wet and miserable outside so I'm glad it's all indoor work needed today.

I hope today is a better one for you Speeds with not too much stress.

Everyone have a good day if you can. xx
Speeds

Just realised I didn't say Good day
Just ranted on every thread I say
So hope you've all had lots of fun
While I've been busy on the run

No kids today to look after more
It was fun really not such a chore
Just Thomas and I after school
Came home and watched tv, that's cool
pixie

I hope you have a nice relaxing weekend as it sounds like a stressful day for you today.

Coming home and watching TV is cool and nice and relaxing.

A quiet evening planned here too, we hope.

My daughter should be home tomorrow so it will get very busy again listening to all the news of her holiday and of course doing all the washing that she'll bring home.

Have a great weekend everyone. xx
pixie

Good morning everyone.

It's just starting to rain and the wind is picking up.

I am glad I don't have to go out anywhere today.

Have a good Saturday everyone.
pam

Afternoon all - went into town shopping today - turned out dreadful weather - wind - rain - cold. Came home to get out of it but did manage to do all shopping. Playing taxi for daughter and fiancee tonight - he's going home tomorrow night - so one less to look after!!    Pam
pixie

What a lovely morning it is today.

Daughter has gone back to work and it's quiet here with our son still in bed.

The decorators are suppossed to be starting here some time this week so it will get busy and noisy.

Off to town later so I hope it doesn't rain on me.

I hope your all doing something interesting today and have a good day.
Speeds

Hello everyone, It's Monday today
Its a bit grim at the moment but wait I say
Our clocks did change, so it'll be lighter tonight
But right this minute it is just like night

Have fun everyone, I've got loads to do
Washing and cleaning and work, to name a few
But I hope everyone has a super time
And Pixie, those decorators don't step out of line

It was funny at school when the bell did go
Not all the children had arrived, attendance was low
I think some of them were still in bed
Like Pixe's son, pillow still to their heads

And to everyone else who has told of their fame
On the thread titled aptly, Down Memory Lane
Its lovely to read of our lives gone by
To remember the fun with happiness and joy

And just a little bit of laughter, and embarrasment too
Of our needs to visit a non flush loo
And the baths in a metal tin right by the fire
These days kids would think we were really dire

So one and all have a lovely day
With the spring here with us, summer on its way
May the sun shine brightly on one and all
Have a wonderful day, before April doth fall.
pam

Good morning all. It's a lovely sunny day in derbyshire. Sam's returned home Nads at cookery - so all is quiet. Going to clean both bathrooms (if I get off here in time) before collecting Nad and taking her into the daycentre she goes to. Speeds I don't know how you think up your poem's i will have to have a try myself oneday! Have a lovely day all.   Pam
Speeds

Pam,

It all started on another forum - we had a poetry fun thing going.  It is not poetry at all really - I just think of what is happeneing and write the sentence and then change the words to rhyme.  I am not very good at it but it is a bit of fun.

Have a go
xx

I think you are very good at it - and some are very long as well - how long does it take you to write them?   Pam
Speeds

2 mins - the one I did this morning - well I got back from school at just past 9 and I posted on here by 14 mins past and that includes having to turn onthe puter

I write the poem as I am posting so thank you for saying they are good

So the same amount of time it took me to write this.

I do not write them first.

I write a little ditty
About what I read today
I try and add in everyone
Who has had something to say
angel28

Morning, Im still yorning, even though the day is past dawning!!!!
Ive got the chills today, just popped in to say
Wasup all, are you havin a ball?

hehe! sorry - that was rubbish - how is everyone!!!!????
Speeds

Night night
I'm off to bed
Off to rest my weary head
But just before I start to snore
I must put the rubbish outside the door
Bin men will come at half past five
At that time I am barely alive
pixie

Good morning all what a windy day
be careful if you go out to play
wrap up warm and wear a coat
otherwised you might get soaked.

Off to do the weeky shop
so busy today that I won't stop
until tonight when I can say
my what a busy day.

Have a good day everyone.

Good evening all. Had a busy day and feeling tired so just popped on briefly. Hope you are all well. Spk tomorrow.   Pam
pixie

Just a quicky before tea.

Hope your all having a good day.

Got the decorators atarting tomorrow and having my hair done so quite a busy day planned.

I hope you all have a good evening and manage to chill out a bit
pam

Good morning all,
It's a grey dark day,
No time to spare,
Must be on my my. ( he he)

mmmmmmmmmmmm not sure I could manage anymore than that

Hope your decorating goes well Pixie.      Pam
pixie

Good morning everyone.

Good poem Pam.

I tried one too but only little as I ran out of time.

Maybe we should put them all in a book as a carers life in poetry.

Decorators started today. All going OK so far. Got at least another week to go yet though so I expect to be pulling my hair out by the end.
They are good chaps though but it's always the same when there's people in the house, it feels like it's not your home for that time.

I hope you all have a good day today.
pam

Pixie - I understand just where you are coming from. Several yrs ago we had an extension built. The mess was unbelievable and at one point we had to have our evening meal in the porch on trays as the diningroom and lounge were out of bounds.
Last yr we had our bedroom and lounge decorated and as you say - it doesnt feel like your home anymore - still you be be lovely and smart when it is finished.  Pam
Speeds

Hello everybody from a tired old me
Last night after work I was nearly too tired for my tea
Today I am feeling better, but work is left untouched
Apart from chatting lots ot Pam, I haven't done that much

The weather's a little gloomy
Although it should be warm
But instead look ot the window
and the garden looks forlorn

I've decided that today
Will be my lazy time
So tomorrow I really must
Get on with this work of mine

I hope the decorators Are being good Pixie
That work is being done
And that they're not just drinking tea
Instead of decorating hun

So now I'm going to make
some lunch for me to chomp
and hopefully Billy will be here soon
So the dogs go on their romp

Then at 3 I'll go and collect
My little monster Tom
And go and see his Nanny
Now that should be some fun
pam

lolol Very God Speeds - you need a publisher.   Pam

Good Morning!!!!!... Just a quick question speeds - I am busy most of the next two weeks although I have one or two days free - would you like to meet up yours or mine or somewhere with the children???? The only days that I am free are Sunday 13th, Tuesday 15th (only have sophie with me that day) and Friday 18th(again just sophie with me) and that's about it really lol

Good morning to you all. It's lovely here with lots of sunshine. It is very windy though and chilly.

The decorators are here again this morning and going great guns. They say they will be finished on Thursday. Yippee. I get my house back.

Sorry I've not been around much but it's like Euston Station here and hardly any time for anything.

I'll be back once they have left.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Morning all.

Snow today. Which means we've had more snow in this neck of the woods in the Spring than we did all Winter!
pixie

Good morning Charles, it snowed here too but it was too wet to stick.

Good job too because my lad wanted to take his Dad out and play in it if there was any on the ground.

Don't forget to post a photo of the snowman you are going to make.

Have a good day everyone.

pam

Snow here as well - a lovely day though but very cold. Pam
pixie

Good morning all, very cold today. Brrrrrr

No snow on the ground though. Seaside town so maybe the salt in the air plays a part.

Decorators are still here, can't wait for it to be finished now. It should all be done by the end of the week. Pheww, I get my house back.

I hope you all have a good day.
Speeds

Hello all, I'm busy writing a report
Not finished yet like I ought
We had lovely snow, but it didn't stay
Not even long enough to play

Have a great day everyone on here
And to Pixie I hope not too much mess to clear
pam

Got the grandchildren until Wed night so not a lot of time. Very cold here. Hope you all have a good night.   Pam

pixie

Good morning to all you lovely people.

The decorators finish today. yippeee, I get my house back.

I must say they have been great though.

FIL is improved a little and I'm sure all the positive thoughts and prayers have help him. Thank you all. It has certainly helped me to cope and feel more positive.

It's a bit wet here but otherwise not too bad a day.

I hope you all have a good day today. xx

We have a team from Connexions coming to see our lad this morning and he is not a happy bunny.

GOOD DAY

Hi All,

My name is Jan and I live in Southport. For many years I was a carer to my Mum who lived with us. Sadly she has passed on now.

Also my youngest daughter has epilepsy but is controlled by drugs now and she is married and has two young sons.

I have empty hours now and so would love to chat to you all if you will allow me to do so on your forum.

Looking at the picture of the little boy with the dog we have 5 grandsons and one granddaughter and two of the grandsons have a weimerarner dog and I am sure that is not the correct spelling but he looks like that dog a bit.
pixie

Good evening everyone and hello Jan. Nice to meet you.

2 of mine have Epilepsy. One is on meds but the other refuses anything.

Mine also have Autism and Tourette's Syndrome. There's 3 altogether, 2 work now and one is still in education. (well sort of). He's at home 24/7 after being bullied out of his school.

It will be great to chat with you and as we live in the same town we should have some things to chat about.

The connextions meeting went well and no need to show them the door. They were really good and understanding. They are there if and when our son is ready to investigate further options.

Have a good evening all.
Speeds

Hello Jan

Yes Thomas my son is with a weimaraner (Zola) - we have two of them

My 3 kids - Belle (aged nearly 10 a rescue Weim), Thomas (aged 7 - my human son) and Zola (aged 5 - my weim from a pupster)

Welcome
pixie

Good afternoon.

It's lovely here just now with the sun shinning.

Busy here preparing for the flooring on Tuesday and carpet on Wednesday.

Can't wait for it to be finished completely now.

Hope you all have a great weekend.
MackenzyJan

Quick chat

Thanks for the welcome folks it is nice to feel welcome.

My daughter stopped taking her anti-convulsant medication when she was in her teens since the epilim was putting weight on. We did not know that she had stopped but she then had two fits in quick succession and it brought her to her senses. They have to learn the hard way sometimes. However the doctor changed her to tegratol and she was better on that.

Autism is a very hard problem to deal with. I worked for "Crossroads" and went into some houses with children with autism and the parents did have a tough time.I felt that they really needed the respite for an hour or so.

Have a good weekend all.
pixie

Good morning all it's dull and grey
what a way to start the day
i hope today the sun may shine
and then we'll all enjoy the rhyme.

Have a good Sunday.

Our daughters must be twins as that is exactly what mine did too and she's now on Tegretol and copes much better with it.

Morning all

Sorry not had time to read everyone's posts.

Am off transporting two rescue doggies from my house to a rescue centre in Wiltshire today.  My good deed for the week - first time I am doing this so I hope it goes well.

I am taking a collie cross and another little cross to a safe place while they wait to be rehomed.

Thinking of you all

Good evening all. I hope you have all enjoyed your weekend?

I hope all went well yesterday with your rescue run with the dogs. That is a lovely thing to do Speeds. xx

Another busy day here with taking up carpets ready for the new ones to go down. I hope there's not too much dust.

I hope you all have a good Monday. xx

Good DAY

Hi All,

Just taken two of my grandsons to school and we walked through the park and it is a lovely fresh morning, bright, sunny but a little cool. Just the sort of day to lift our spirits.

I have not worked at the Playbarn for Crossroads since for the last nine years or so I lived in Saudi Arabia with my husband but been back for two years now. I think Sue is one of the only ones left for Crossroads in this area now. We did a lot of fundraising for them when I was in Jeddah but still they had to close the Southport branch.

Nice of you Speeds to help the dogs. Our son and family who have Monty the Wiemararner (spelling again) also have a rescue spaniel called Benjy.  The dogs are good with their two sons. Andrew who is now 8 had to have major surgery as a baby because he had craniosystosis where his bones in his head had fused too soon and the dogs I am sure gave him confidence. He is fine now but a little small for his age.

Have a good day everyone.
pam

Good afternoon all, spent the morning shopping and the afternoon? changing the beds!! Pam
Speeds

Hi Everyone

Yesterday was great - actually quite liberating and humbling.  The girls I took the dogs too have 7 dogs at the moment in tbeir care - fostering and finidng homes.  I enjoyed a wonderful drive through some splendid Berkshire and Wiltshire countryside and loved every minute of it.

BUT I do have sinusitis which started on Saturday.  I am taking medication now so hopefully by tomrrow it will be gone.

I am hoping to take Thomas to Legoland tomorrow.

Today I met up with Wendy and Leo.  Leo is the same age as Thomas and he has PWS too.  We had lunch and a quick shop - shame I was not feeling brilliant.

Hope everyone else had a good weekend and is raring to go.
pixie

Good morning all. It's cold today here and keeps raining on and off.

I hope you feel better soon Speeds, sinusitis is horrible and makes you feel quite poorly.

Gladd the rescue run went well and you enjoyed the drive.

I hope everyone else is well and has a good day.
MackenzyJan

GOOD MORNING

Hi All,

Yes Speeds I hope that you feel a little better soon.

I went to aqua aerobics at the baths yesterday and it is a nice hour. It is mainly for people who have health problems or weight problem (me) but they are a lovely crowd and I do enjoy the group.

I was amazed to see a disabled group in the big pool and the downs syndrome young adults could swim like fish. They were having a super time and their faces were enough to make your day with their smiles.

Have a nice day everyone.
angel28

hiya everyone! Sorry Ive not been around!

Hope you are all well and enjoyed the snow we had last week!?!?!?!
pam

Good afternoon it sounds as if everyone is enjoying themselves at the moment except poor speeds. I too suffer with sinus problems tried loads of pills and potions - the one thing that does help is steam inhalations with olbas oil in - 2/3 times a day if possibel. I sometiimes have a terrible headache in the mornings (wouldn't mind if I had enjoyed a tipple too much the night before)   which is one of the problems I get the old Olbas in hot water does the trick - doesn't work the same on a handkerchief though. Keep smiling folks  Pam

Good Afternoon

Hi Pixie,

I went into town this morning and saw little Sue from Crossroads out with one of the children and she told me that the Playbarn at Kinderworld in Southport is still open on Saturday mornings. She says it is well attended by quite a lot of children who have autism. Appears that they still do the child care in Southport from the Liverpool based office but no longer do the adults unless they pay £18 per hour.

Any contact then has to be done to the Liverpool office.

Have a nice day all.
Speeds

Good day one and all
From a day just like fall
Except the leaves are not yet on the trees

It is gloomy and gray
What a miserable day
After yesterday the sun's seemed to flee

My legs are still aching
From Thomas to Legoland taking
Where we had a wonderful time

We did all the new attractions
With a lot of satisfaction
And mostly not waiting in line

today we'll be busy
It'll make you quite dizzy
To see our list to be done

Walk dogs, then to Reading
To measure curtain poles and bedding
But of course we will make sure its fun

Then off to the shops
To buy all the lot
So that it all can be fixed just in time

So have a good day
And while I'm away
Please post us a little rhyme

MackenzyJan

Good Morning

Hi All,

Well Speeds as we used to say at school Crimes it ryhmes ,
                                                          Youre a poet
                                                           And you didn't know it.
I am impressed Speeds and good luck with all your shopping today and all the other jobs that you have to do.

It is bright and sunny here in the North West but cold today as yet.

Just thinking that for all Britain's faults it does try to look after people. A couple we know moved to Cyprus for a better life and two weeks or so ago Bill had a bad fall down their marble stairs. He has two broken arms and a broken leg and ribs and they sent him home once he had the operations to set the bones and so on. They do not have any aftercare like district nurses and he cannot do anything for himself as you can imagine. His wife Mary was doing her best and last week she suffered a stroke and now they have sent her home as well and she cannot talk and has lost most of the left side. Their unmarried son Ian who lives in Wales has gone out to help. Poor them. I am on a Cyprus forum and we have set up a fund for them to get some private nurses in. Not always greener on the other side then folks. Prayers for Mary and Bill and Ian please.

Have a nice day everyone and keep well.
Speeds

Sorry to hear about your friends - that is so sad to hear how poorly they both must be and also for their son.

It is very true that while we complain we are relatively lucky as a nation in the care we do get without having to fork out heaps of money on insurance.

I hope all picks up for the family.  Is there a giving page or anything set up for the nurses you are funding?  They could set up a just giving page.
pam

Sorry to here about your friends I would love to live abroad - but my retirement age looms on the horizon, and I am concerned about the health side of things as we get older - so for me I will be staying in the uk.
Speeds - enjoy your spending spree even though I bet it is tiring.
Have a good night folks. Pam

Sue is a lovely lady, as were all the ladies that were at the Playbarn when we were going.
We must have been there about the same time as you so we would probably recognise each other if we met.

Most of the children that went had Autism and we are still in contact with some of the families.

We only stopped going because my eldest became too old to go on the equipment and the youngest seemed to outgrow it about the same time and decided to lay in on a Saturday instead!!

£18 per hour seems steep. We offered to pay when we needed some respite but they wouldn't let us so we had to get someone private and pay them instead.
It worked well until they had to send a new lady and the children couldn't accept the change.

I felt really bad because my son just hid under the sofa (naked) all evening and she had to go home in the end.

Marion

See you at mine at 11 on Friday - at my dirty pit of a house.

Bring boots - we could all go for a wak inthe woods with the dogs - if Sophie would like that?
pixie

Good morning all, it's lovely today but very chilly.

Off out later to get some runners for the hall, it's all finished now and looks lovely so just the finishing touches to do now.

I hope you and Marion enjoy your walk in the woods tomorrow and that the weather stays good for you.

Have a good day everyone. xx
MackenzyJan

GOOD Morning

Hello again all,

Well your place sounds to be looking lovely Pixie - have you recently moved home then?

You telling us about your son hiding under the stool naked did make me smile but really it is time that more research was done to try to sort out some help for the autisim problems. It is hard to volunteer any help because you have to know these children and adults for a long time before they give you their trust. So popping in to sit for an hour or so is not really any help.
I recall one visit that little Sue and I did together to a lady who had two children both badly affected by autisim. They could only have two bean bags and a tv on a shelf high up the wall in the room because everything else would be wrecked. Sue tells me that the two are now in residential care. If only the Docs could have opened up their minds I am sure that they would have become gifted adults. If only dream on Jan.

Have a nice day folks and enjoy the bright days. Keep well.
pixie

Next time you see little Sue ask her if she remembers Sam and his sister from the playbarn. You may remember him too but I'm sure Sue will.

Do you remember the twins and their older brother as well as we were going at the same time as they were. They usually came with their Dad.

It is so hard having Autistic children but you're right that with the right help early on they can do so well.

Off to bed now so good night to you all and have a good day tomorrow. xx

GooD Morning

Hi Everyone,

Friday again and another week gone - they seem to go faster these weeks. Not long now to the May Bank Holidays and so has anyone made any plans for them?

St. George's Day next wednesday and this year England seems to be making more of an effort and I am glad about that since we should be proud of our Country. (Do not all shout why at once please.)

I am going into Town early today because Woolworths have a sale on the childrens' clothes and so I am having a look for the younger 4. Also picking up a summer school dress for Emily since the school she goes to have purple checks and they are hard to find. Woolworths do them though and last year two of the Mums were almost fighting over them.

Have a nice day all and a lovely weekend as well. My daughter and I are taking Emily to the Birkdale Play Barn tomorrow morning since she is very active and has to be kept occupied. So what is "normal" then since she is bright as a button but very hard work.

Afternoon all from a freezing cold derbyshire.

Not got anything planned for the May hols - yet still in the throes of half term here and have been really busy
Wrap up warm folks Pam

Pam, I don't know about anyone else but I have mixed feelings about the smell of fresh paint: when I was small I used to be sick at the smell.

It's worse now. In fact it's so bad that now I feel sick at the suggestion of buying some paint!

Good Morning

Morning everyone and my goodness Charles you were up with the larks posting at 5.40am on a Saturday!!! Must have been the thought of that paint smell. Or are you off to the Ikea sale since everything is reduced by 21% today for their 21st birthday.

I like to get up early but I also go to bed fairly early. Not one of these that can stay up half the night watching films or something. When we lived in Saudi they are almost nocturnal and will be up half the night - because of course it is cool then and then they would be up early and sleep for most of the afternoon. I never got into that regime at all.

Well have a really good weekend one and all. Enjoy it if you can.

Morning all. - Charles the smell of fresh paint only bothers my asthma other than that I'm fine. You reminded me of my mum in law for some reason Charles - nothing to do with paint but whilst she was in the nursing home we took her to Crich Tramway Museum. We took mum for a ride on one of the trams and as we settled down and the tram moved off mum informed us that when she was a girl (she was from sheffield) and was taken on the trams -   she was always sick[i] We looked at each other - and just hoped that we wouldn't have a repeat of this! Hi all.

Not sure that this really counts as a "good morning."

Just lately having trouble sleeping - coincides with my eldest returning from Romania: he's a noisy little git.

Either that or Mike's off on one - but right now he's snoring like a chainsaw.

Good job it's not a work day. Only ironing and shopping to look forward to.

I can barely contain the joy.
pixie

Good morning all on this dull Sunday morning. They say it will brighten up later.

It's not nice going without sleep so I hope you manage a cat nap later today Charles.

I'm with Charles about the paint. It makes me feel quite ill but the kids love it.

I hope you all have a good day whatever you have planned.
pam

Morning all, it looks cold and damp out there. I'm with you today Charles on the not much sleep only mine's due to one very upset daughter who has cried on and off all night. Hope your sleep pattern returns soon Charles - or your noisy git quietens down   Pam
Annie

Sorry to hear of the lack of sleep Charles, it is dull and very windy here today, rain forecast later, hope not as I am helping out at a garden open day,
                   Annie

Good Morning

Good morning all,

Here we are around to Monday mornng again and at least here it is bright and not raining and so I can get on with the washing.

Hope that you all had a good weekend and everyone feels fairly upbeat. If anyone does not then let us know since from my days as a carer sometimes you just need to tell someone how you are feeling. Get it out of your system and then recharge the batteries.
My daughter is Deputy Head of a Sure Start Family Centre and sometimes she rings me knowing that she can have a rant and it will go no further but she does get like a fizz in a bottle when she gets wound up with the Social Services admin or similar. This week she had to tell a very young Mum that her child appears to be very handicapped and that evening she rang me and let rip about how unfair this world is. Well maybe it is but we have to make the most and best of it.
Anyway all keep up the good work of being Mum, carer or whatever.

Good Morning

Hi Speeds,

I have just been looking at your pictures and they are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing those. Your family and home are lovely. Did Dom have an accident of some sort and that is why he is in the wheelchair?

Talking of your dog not being well, it seems that they often have stomach trouble those sort of dogs. (Avoid spelling Jan thats it) Our Martin's Monty has to have a special diet from the vets and it costs them a fortune. He has not to eat anything at all other than that stuff. I would love to buy him some chews or something but he is not allowed anything.

Oh well off to my aqua aerobics for an hour or so now. Supposed to help me lose weight but it doesn't but I know that I eat too much!!!!!!

from Jan
pixie

Good afternoon, I'm late with my hello today.

It's is lovely here Jan and my washing is out. It should dry with the nice breeze we have.

Busy here sorting out the internet, as we've been having problems since the flooring went down. Not the floorers fault but BT don't seem to want to get in touch about sorting it so hubby is under the floor trying to get it working properly.

I hope he comes up again sometime today. LOL

Have a good day everyone and enjoy your aqua aerobics Jan.

I hope your dog is feeling better soon Speeds. xx
Speeds

Belle is much better thank you everyone.

I am really lucky Jan with my two weimys as they do not really have sensitive stomachs at all - compared to some weims.  My two eat anything but are mainly fed on Nature Diet.

Regarding Monty's food there are several people o our weimaraner forum who have to use special foods for their dogs and they do not use what the vet recommends.  It is a fine line with them but at least it is cheaper.

If they want to look go to www.weimaraner.tv - it is a great site.

Back to Dom, he had an abseiling accident in 1994.  He was in the Territorial Army on a traiing exercise and he fell and hit his neck on the cliff.  He is a C6/7 tetraplegic.  Dom is self caring save for the bits of personal care that he cannot manage.  He works full time in a good job, drives and goes off to watch his beloved Chelsea home and away.  He is reasonalby active but the demands of a job and personal care taking that much longer means that apart from going off to football he does not have a lot of time to do many other things.

We had to have ICSI in order to have a family due to Dom's poor sperm (they are often very poorly after a spinal cord injury) and that is how we have our little Thomas.

Good evening everyone not been around much been a bit busy but hope you are all ticking along nicely. Good to hear the dogs a bit better speeds Pam

Good Morning

Hi All,

Well make the most of this sunny day since the forecast is that it goes downhill again from today for a few days and will drop cold again. So enjoy the nice weather whilst we have it.

I am stressed today because Ian (hubby) runs his own business doing Automotive Events and Automotive writing and tomorrow he is doing the launch of a new supercar on St. George's Day. Idea new English built car on English Saints Day. Today they are setting up the set in the venue and doing all the lighting etc. Now at this late stage the hassles are coming in think and fast. Caterer with a big estimate, Client not happy with it, venue will only allow certified firms to cater. Car just got a puncture being test driven at speed on a track. BBC coming anytime to film. Oh how I wish it was Thursday and all thlis was done with. My blood pressure must be sky high I am sure.  Rant over. I will go and have a coffee and just leave the phones for half an hour or so.

All have a nice day. Certainly a better one than me!!!!!
