Relatively non busy day today.

Take Thomas to school. School dinners went really well apparently. No worries about him liking them - just quantity here. Came home wanting "pud" tomorrow - we have sort of reached a compromise - we will see if that works.

Today after school - must must must clean the house - it is a TIP

Then off to coffee/lunch with Sarah in Wokingham to have a groan and moan and gossip session. Then collect Thomas from school. Get the school ready for our Ladies Evening tonight. Come home, cook tea for Dom and I give Thomas a sarnie - the joys of school dinners

and then off out for an evening of retail and papmper therapy.

. Got raffle tickets in to boxes for our Christmas fayre - had a chat with a few people and now home for brekkie and then back to scho to drop off bottle and then out for a wel earned doggy walk.

just having a quick coffee then going to get my hair cut, then i have a review meeting at jons after school club to see how its working out. his part time placement he has been doing for the last couple years in school is breaking down and i have asked for him to attend special school all week now, both schools agree and now theres all there is all the red tape to go through with the lea, shouldnt be too much of a problem hopefully.as long as he is happy thats all i care about.

am just about to phone 'ace' the school advisory service to find out what is the legal position if i dont send jon into school for his two mainstream days and home educate until the special school can provide a place for full week instead of 3 days.

hoping it will sort out ok because he was very upset after having a bad day at school and his teacher, who i dislike also, wrote some very upsetting comments in his home book.

oh well, the joys of parenhood i guess.

theres nothing worse than seeing your child unhappy in the mornings and coming out the same at the end of the day and i wont have that happen.

been there since thursday. we were first in the queue and he sat for ages chatting to jon it was really nice. had a photo done and got a little game which he liked. it was nice. the christmas trees and decorations are all up in our shopping precinct looking so pretty. everyone was rushing around like they only had one day left !!!

We have the Home School lady coming today for a meeting at our house. It's just routine but the lady is lovely so it will be nice to chat about our son and make sure we are all happy with his progress.

Good for you Barb - all work and no play is not the way to spend life.

I have spent two hours at school getting leaflets etc ready for the school book fair and then moved the dog crate. Just had a cuppa and decided that I am missing me putie too much

Pixie - that sounds fab. I know you have said what she does but why does she do it - is she from the LEA, the school or somewhre else. We do not hav a Home School Lady (or man for that matter) so was wondering if this is a local thing or am I missing out on something?

Hope the meeting goes well and that you have not killed yourself making your house tidy (which is what I do - cannot quite get it in to my head that they have come to see me and not me dust!!!)

The meeting went very well. It went on a bit longer than we were expecting but it was a pleasent meeting.

The Home School Liason lady is from school. I'm not sure if it's because it's a private school and just something they do as a matter of course.

Nearly killed ourselves cleaning though. Nobody wants to see my dust balls. That the problem with wooden floors, the dust balls up and doesn't hide in the carpet instead.

Today I have a meeting with the School Council for the PTA, need to chase up the dietician, trying to order some pretend gold nuggets (anyone on here know where to get them from????), continue cleaning house, finish washing, get dogs out, and a zillion other things I am supposed to do

Yes there was and still is that cereal.

But what I wanted was some artificial god nuggets (a bit like fools gold) which you hide is a sandpit. The children (and adults if they want to) get 30 secs to find some gold. 20p a go and we do it at our Christmas Fayre.

S****y night - Dom went dysreflexic - Thomas came in to our bed and laid on his wee bag so his bladder filled up. He is OK ish now (apart from his cold)

Thomas had a bad day at school yesterday but seems brighter today - think his cold is getting him down - was not really doing tag rugby last night but did not want to go home.

Dogs are fine.

I am just tired - being woken up three times in a night is unusual for me (I know I am lucky) but when it does happen it does take the stuffing out of you.

I am off for a well needed gas and coffee at Waitrose with Sarah.

Then after school off to see a little girl who is 7 today with Thomas (they would have gone to the same school if the Head at my catchment school had not been so unprofessional) and then off to a Virgin Vie party.

Bits and bobs still to do for the Christmas Fayre and that will be my day.

theres nothing worse than not getting a good nights sleep, as i know oh so well.

not alot planned here today, except jon is having lunch at home on mainstream days as he finds that time of day difficult and they dont handle it well in school.

i havent taken him of their register there is a review in a few weeks time which has been brought forward and the papers will then be sent to panel for a full time placement in special school.

just hoping he has been ok today if not, i will not send him in tomorrow which they are well aware off.

hello to you all. happy anni to pixie...how many years is it???

havent been on pc yet today.

had a problem with the carer with jon this morning, usual one has been away and thankgoodness returns this week as they have a wonderful relationship. jon wanted to change clothes and asked the carer who he has know for about three weeks now to wait outside for him but didnt explain himself because he cant, the new guy says im coming in, so jon says dont come in my r o o m he likes to spell words out sometimes,ends up with the carer forcing his way into the room and jon fell into the cupboard and hurts himself, great big mark on his back and the cupboard is broken, jon screams and swears, you.....get out you pushed me, i run upstairs, the carer (cant spell his name) says if you cant behave im going so i tell him yes go please. im livid and the girl who arranges care will get a call from me on monday, im so mad, really mad.

That man shouldn't be a carer at all, he sounds horrible.

It most certainly isn't on and if I were you I would write a letter of complaint so that it is more official. Make a copy for yourself too.

I would still call on Monday and write the letter after the phone call so that you can mention the discussion you had on the phone as well as a rundown of the actual event.

I hope Jon is OK and that you feel calmer soon.

im so sorry your having all this with your son now, schools are clearly not doing enough to resolve these issues. it is so sad and unfair that he has to finish his last compulsory year like this. jons review is in three weeks time and it looks as if everyone is saying the same thing that he should be in special school all week so hopefully once it goes to panel it will be agreed, its all the red tape and stuff that takes time.plus we now have this issue with the carer pushing jon and it opened up so much,social servs and gp involved and meetings being arranged,i am really losing faith in society at the moment.

i do hope there will be a speedy solution to your sons problems, no child should have to put up with anything like this, childhood should be a pleasant experience our kids have enough without all of this.

At Thomas school the Head only does not see people immediately if she is not there. Even is she should be teaching or doind sothing else she will make sure you are seen ASAP.

Hi Speeds and Barbsy.

Our son is not going back to school until something is sorted out. We are making a stand and I will take him to the GP if I have to to get a sick note to produce in case of any problems.

We deliberately asked for an appointment for next week to give us and our son time out from the stress. I know they would see us before that but we need some chill time.

We are all chilling here and having a more restful day.

It is good to relax.

I took Thomas out of school last year for two days and took him out and about instead of school. The Head - tongue in cheek said to me - I hope he does not think that everytime he is naughty or finding it hard to cope he thinks he will go to Windsor Castle and Legoland. I had not even thought of that

. Only saying this because it made me think but I am sure that is a hell of a long way behind you!

Relax, enjoy and I hope that the meeting goes well. Is any one doing an agenda and do make a list - grandma springs to mind here but that is what I do now and I tick the points off in front of everyone too.

Missed the morning and afternoon slots.

Hope they were all good.

We had our school Christmas Fayre yesterday. We raised over £3800 including £130 for a signed Reading shirt which was fab.

We still have the potential to raise another few hundred pounds as not all of the canvasses painted by the children have been bought. Each child in the school painted a canvass and we sell them for £5 for first child, £4 for first sibling at school and then £3 for second sibling.

We also have not counted our Book Fayre takings yet either for the week.

Today I am cleaning as I will be away all week in Manchester so also that means I will not be on here until next Sat!!!!!!!!

Ian - sorry to hear that puss is not well - having two mutleys I know what a worry it is when the furkids are not well.

I am just about to pack. Off to Manchester to work for the next 3 days. Thomas and Dominic will be in the able hands of Becky, a spinal carer. Dogs are being looked after by Billy from Letsgowalkies (he is walking them).

Have had my hair cut today, done my shopping at Somerfields, bought some boots, had lunch, tidied up and just printed all my paper work out. Sure I have forgotten to do something though!!!!!

Danny is OK. He had a big abcess which the vet cleaned up and hes had a antibiotic injection and hes got some anti-inflammtory stuff we inject daily. Hes still limping but he looks a lot brighter today.
