What a day. Very busy today.

1st day back to school for my son and first day officially employed for my daughter.

All went well for both.

Phew what a day of 1st's.

hi pixie, pleased to hear their first days both went well, i am really pleased for them both. jon went back today he does a split placement between mainstream and special school. so he has to settle in both places but so far its been good.

Happy Evening everyone. Just got in fromt he school disco - am totally shattered. DJ had me as one of the mums doing oops upside yer head - I was leading the girls but we sorta do things a bit manic so now my feet are killing me

Ours has a Halloween disco coming up on 31st so he's looking forward to that. He has his costume all ready. Real scary it is too.

Wow I am scared and was going ot bed but I am quaking in my shoes now

Our school holds a disco each term. The kids love it from the 4 year olds in Reception to the 11 year olds in Year 6.

We charge £2 to get in and they get a fruit shoot type drink, a packet of crisps and a cake with a Smartie on top.

We try to avoid the Festivals like Halloween and Valentines so we have them earlier in the terms. We sometimes do fancy dress but often it is just a chance for the kids to have a good evening. Parents are allwoed and encouraged to stay and if they want dance with the kids which most of the kids love (so long as it is not your mum dancing

)

I hope your son has a fab Halloween Disco. I cannnot believe it is 1.5 weeks until half term - that is so so scary in itself.

What a giggle. My mate Hollie drove all the way from Andover to mine to avoid treat or treaters as her dog (a weim too) would go mad. I NEVER get trick or treaters USUALLY but tonight we had two sets

Anyway - dogs were good and loved the fuss

None for us this year again. I'm glad really but now we have sweets to eat.

Only just really got on the puter at 7 ish.

Last night THomas stayed at his Nannys so we had a restful evening and sleep with no early rising

Dom had a bath (yes a big event in this house) which takes us nearly two hours.

We then went out to buy some bits and pieces for the new car - like protectors etc against wheelchair stratches. We were very norty and had a cheeseburger for lunch.

Then it was off to Nannys for the afternoon and an earlyish dinner and then back home.

Not as busy but sort of busy

Not too busy here except for hubby doing all those eBay listings with our young man's toys.

The usual for me with washing, bathing the young man (also very rare, but because he hates it he's in and out in a flash) and other boring general housework.

Daughter came home about 6 and is now in bed ready for work tomorrow.

We are still eating all the sweets.

Sorry to hear Jon is not well again Barbsy. I hope the GP managed to get to the bottom of what's wrong and give some meds or at least advice to help him get better soon.

I am again letter writing this weekend as it all went wrong at school again today. My lad was so upset he wanted to come home but they wouldn't let him and even seemed to be angry with him!!

I'm not sure if he will be going back next week yet.

At least it's the weekend so maybe some chill time for us all.

pixie im sorry to hear your son has problems with school again, the week started on such a positive note for him. it doesnt make sense that they should be angry with him, oh i do hope you will get all this sorted out i do feel for him.

jons perked up slightly, well to the point that hes talking,much not doing much more than just laying down.temperatures under control now thankfully.he has always been poorly quite often seems to pick everything up going.he supposed to be going into hospital end of the week for some sleep tests but i dont think he will be able to now.

oh well, always something to worry about isnt there.

are busy bees

My little spoilt boy

At Bracknell Bowl with friends from years 1 and 2

Today we bought a cake
An another coz it was too small
Because he chose a football one

This is his second birthday party!!!

His birthday was 22-Dec when he was 7.

This is a party for his school friends so that it was not all a mad rush before Christmas and he has something to look forward to once all the hub of Christmas has past!

Im so glad today is through,
the children are thriving

the curse of this dreaded bug

Went round to my mum and Dad's today
Of my meeting with Karen I had much to say,
I couldnt keep up the conversation long
because my sore throat wouldnt let me carry on,

We had a lovely roast beef to eat,
and afterwards the kids got a treat,
they watched the wizard of Oz on Dvd
and upstairs for a lie down for me..

Nothing sort of unexpected but my uncle who has cancer in several places has been told there is no more treatment. My Auntie is of course beside herself that they have "sent him home to die". He is my Dad's twin brother (my dad died in 1985) and he was 78 last year. Obviously I am upset although working in the field I am more aware of cancer than my Auntie. So last night I just felt a bit drained as I had spent time talking to my Auntie and trying to understand everything the doctors had said. Trouble is too is that she is telling me things which are like a needle in a haystack as she does not know the answers.

I have been trying ot do some research tonight but not knowing all the relevant details makes that difficult. I will be speaking to her on Monday after she has spoken to the hospital again.

That must be very difficult for all of you and I do feel for you very much.

Don't try to take on too much yourself. ie the research, you will wear yourself out and not be able to support your Aunty as much as you would like.

I'm sure your best way forward is to be there for her and your Uncle so that they have someone to lean on at a time that will be very hard for them both and for you too.

Maybe when she has talked to the consultant things will become clearer and then you could look into it further if you wanted to and felt the need to.

I have to pop into the police station tomorrow to make a statement about harassment our lad is still getting from the bully. It's via the internet but I have now made a formal complaint.

I don't think anything will come of it but here's hoping.
