We had an excellent day back yesterday - got a sheet home from school with smilies - only taken two years but it has been done.

They have a practice football session today so should be fun for them all.
Rabid

Back today and all went well

Whens the next school holidays again?

.
Speeds

Today went fine too. He really enjoyed the practice football session and I have another sheet with all smiley faces.

He is knackered with a capital K though bless him and was asleep at 6!!!! Still the little wotsit was up at 5 this morning.
welshie

morning all soooo quiet here bliss lol!
pixie

Glad you're having a quiet day. Can I swop with you.

It's been mad and hectic here.

Son to the doctors for an infected finger and cat to the vets for more treatment.

Inbetween that, the postman with parcels, a delivery for my daughter and phone calls.

Is it time for bed yet.
Rabid

Agghh, is today over with yet??

.
barbsy

nevermind soon be the weekend and you can have the kids home again.

barb
Speeds

I was working today preparing for a three day course that I am delivering at Kingston Uni with another person.
barbsy

what is it that you do speeds?

barb
Speeds

Morning everyone. Off for a much needed hot chocolate at Waitrose in Wokingham with my friend who has a little girl with PWS.

Work wise - I audit clinical trials and I provide training to people who work with clinical trials. There are also several university MScs, degrees and Diplomas that people can take and I am asked to lecture on those occassionally. The one at Kingston is a three day module for an MSc.
barbsy

goodness all that work and a mum.good for you speeds.i admire you.

enjoy your chocolate, sounds yummy.

barb
Speeds

Will be off soon but have to say that as I work for myself I do not work many hours and I do pick and choose which is great when there are so many appointments etc.
pixie

Sounds yummy, can I come too, I love chocolate.

You are a very busy lady Speeds. Good luck with it all, sounds a very exciting job.

Morning to you all. The suns shinning again.

bit late today afternoon all have a good day
Speeds

Have had a great time at Waitrose and shopping in Wokingham. Ate cake had lunch and shopped and bought loads of stuff
barbsy

sounds like a nice day.

unfortunately im stuck at home at the moment with jon who got bitten and ended up in a & e last night and is on antibiotics.

barb
pixie

Sounds like Waitrose offer more than shopping these days. I wish we had one nearer to us here.

I could do with a good day out shopping. hint hint.
pixie

I hope your little'un is better soon Barbsy. Was it a Horse Fly that bit him? They are nasty bites, worse than bee or wasp stings.
barbsy

whatever it was its really nasty. it looks like lyme disease which is quite horrible he has very strong dose of antibiotics and i have to keep an eye on it and of course on him. it was frightening as he has many allergies and needs adrenaline so i was pretty scared. hes been laying down watching tv also dosed up on nurofen. he has been really brave my little chap.

take care, barbs

Ekk, I hope he is ok and recoveres quickly.

Must have been scary !

.
Speeds

Hope he is OK real soon.

BTW Waitrose do not sell everything - we did Woolies, M&S, WHSmiths, Sports shop etc. Wokingham is a cottage town but very lovely with small versions of the big shops - y!
pixie

Good afternoon everyone. It's quiet today but the sun is shinning and the decorating is coming along.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
barbsy

hello to you all. just got back from a sainsburys shop whilst jon was with his carer this morning. he seems a bit more like himself but the antibiotics have made him more hyperactive than usual, i think i can cope (argh)

hope everyone is having a pleasant day, not sure about the weather though.

Been lovely here. Went swimming with Thomas and my friend Sarh with her little girl. Then we went to visit another friend called Sarah who has weimaraners like me. Thomas is used a lot as a training too for dogs as he is so good around dogs having the two monsters of his own. Then we went to Focus and Halfords. Back home and then straight out agaon for an hours walk inthe woods with the dogs. Just ordered curry for tea at the Little Man's request - so now we are all waiting with rumbly tums.

Hope you all had nice days too. Boy - I love this forum - thanks Pixie
barbsy

wow sounds like you have had a hectic day today.

just making some dinner, ive got salmon and veggies cos i started slimming world on thursday ! jons got sausages and chips (not fair)

he is slowly recovering from his insect bite reaction, scared the hell out of me i can tell you.

hes watching king kong on the tv at the moment. bit scary.

hope you all have a nice evening, enjoy your curry speeds.

barbs x
Rabid

Sounds like everyone has had a good day today, although busy

Lets hope tommorow is a great day all round too.

.
pixie

It sounds you have all done more than me. I've just been sorting out things at home and catching up.

My daughter's been climbing with a friend, hubby has been painting and my son played on his PC. That's when he got up anyway.

I bet that was so scary Barbsy and I'm glad Jon is on the mend now. Will he be well enough for school on Monday?

Sounds like a very active day for you Speeds. I love walking, especially in the countryside or along the beach.

Have a good evening and enjoy your meals.
pixie

Good morning everyone. It's a lovely bright sunny day here today.

Off to see friends later and see their new home and meet their new friend who is a cute little dog. (can't remember what type now). I'll maybe put a photo on later.

Hope you all have a great day.
barbsy

I hope everyone has a great day

Take it easy y'all

We had a busy day. We went to see a Subaru Outback as a potential new car. I need an estate car but also one that can cope off road plus it has to be suitable for Dominic to transfer in and out of his wheelchair.

Does anyone have oe or know anyone that has one? If so what are they like - any tips - good or bad appreciated.

I'm no expert here but one thing I though of was something like a Range Rover or similar 4x4? I know a few people who need wheelchair access and they use people carrier type cars but I dont know of any that would fit the "off road" criteria.

Sorry, I'm not much help

Good luck.

.
pixie

This is one of the friends we met for the first time today.

He's so tiny but he chases around faster than me.

Speeds

Oh he is adorable. My two would love him - yes to play with not to eat!!!!

Thomas just said - Who's that?

Thanks for your reply - all replies are useful even if the poster feels they are not. You have taken the trouble to read and reply - that makes me feel special - thank you.

The 4X4s are too high for a wheelchair user who is indepent to easily transfer in and out of. Hence why we looked at the Subaru as it has a higher ground clearance.

Trouble is - with two huge dogs and a wheelchair and an electric wheelchair there is often very little room for the driver - let alone the passengers
pixie

Good afternoon. It's been another very busy day and I'm almost ready for bed already.

I hope you've all had a great day so far.
pixie

Good morning to you all.

It's a nice bright day today. Off out to do the weekly shop later and more ironing after that. The worst job in the world for me.

I hope you all enjoy some sunshine and have a good day.
barbsy

good morning pixie and everyone else.

got too school really late because there was traffic probs and everyone was late this morning. just having some new carpet laid in my bedroom and then i can everything straight again.

weathers looking really nice, got heaps of washing everywhere so a busy day.

Good luck having the carpet fitted, I'm sure it will look great when its done

.
barbsy

i only just saw your pic what a sweetie the dog is, so tiny.

so much for new carpet, i only have half of the order cos they measured it wrong so their back again on friday. nevermind.

barbs hope everyones ok
pixie

Oh my, so now you have to wait again. It will be worth the wait but what a pain having to move all that furniture again.

The little doggie is gorgeous. He fell asleep on my knee because we all wore him out.
barbsy

i wonder if i should have had a doggie instead of a child!!!

just had half an hour with the child from hell screaming and kicking out at me and his carer.

be glad when today is over.

barb
Speeds

Don't be fooled. I have just been shouted at, talked to and cajoled by a weimaraner who wants HIS place on MY sofa.

It is a dogs life - honestly

This picture was not taken today - but it is the norm for this sofa. Not much room for the humans.
pixie

I think you spoil your friends Speeds

They do look so cute, how could you disturb them though

Barbsy maybe the antibiotics have made Jon "off" today. They can have that effect as I've found out to my cost on many occasions.

I hope Jon's settled down now and giving you some chill out time.
Speeds

Spoil understatement.

Belle went to the vets today as she had a sore ear. Thomas and I took her at 8am and left her. She had to have an anaesthetic so that they cold have a good look see. She had a lump removed too and her teeth looked at and claws clipped. It has cost me £585. Worse thing is they want to sedate her on Thursday and Monday so tha will be another £200 a time

Anyway - why am I writing this - here's hoping Jon is OK with his antibiotics and will be back to his normal self soon.

Thomas was very distraught today too as I had to collect Belle early as she was shouting and barking too loud at the vets. He was pacified because I told him Belle was at home.

Get well soon Jon. and Barb - hope that tomorrow is a better day.
barbsy

thankyou both for asking about jon. antibiotics havent done much for his behaviour, but there again its not that unusual that he has these 'moments' its also a big change going back to school and stuff. speeds of course you should be writing stuff, this is about you and your family thats what this site is all about, its worrying for you about the dogs and this is a place to come vent about whatever you want to, we are all here to listen thats the whole point of it.

i hope everyone has a nice evening whatever your up to, ive just put jon to bed and hoping he will settle down otherwise i think i may just have a walk to the bottom of the garden and have good yell....arghh....lol

nite nite, barbs

I'm not sure what other car fits the bill really. I'm not well up on off road type cars.
Would something like a 4 x 4 estate car be any use?
something like:
http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/...jeremy_clarkson/article524609.ece

Other than that I'd be at a bit of a loss.

Good luck hunting down what you need

.
pixie

Our friends do cost us but they are worth every penny because they love us unconditionally and they are a big part of our family. They bring us so much happiness.

We are at the vets almost every week at the moment with one of our cats as she is very ill. She's had a good long life but we are still sad that she will soon be leaving us.

Treasure your friends because they deserve it.

Barbsy is right, that's what this forum is for, sharing the good and the not so good. It's great to be able to bounce things around and get ideas to help with our kids.

I hope Jon settled in bed OK Barbs and that you managed some quiet time for yourself.

Good night all.
pixie

Almost afternoon everyone.

It's lovely here so I'm busy with washing today. Hope you all have a good day.
